As we are currently in the offseason of the Dota 2 competitive scene, many teams are reassembling their lineups for the upcoming season. One of these teams is Team Liquid, who took advantage of Tundra Esports’ powerful squad being dissolved to acquire the services of star offlaner Neta “33” Shapira.

There is no doubt that this is great news for both Liquid and the team’s fans since having a winner of The International in their ranks makes the team much more confident. In addition, we are also looking at a much more solid and compact squad that will surely fight for as many trophies as possible in 2024.

Team Liquid announces the signing of 33

Through a post on its official Twitter/X account, Team Liquid announced the signing of Neta “33” Shapira ahead of the upcoming Dota 2 season.

As we mentioned, Liquid takes advantage of this golden opportunity since Tundra decided not to renew its staff, and they managed to sign one of its former superstars.

And is that, as anticipated at the time, Team Liquid began its restructuring for the next season after the end of TI 2023 and the retirement of Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg.

About 33

Undoubtedly, 33 is one of the best options Team Liquid could find in the market during the offseason. We all know the level, talent, and winning blood of this experienced 26-year-old Israeli player, who also won TI 2022 with Tundra Esports.

However, Tundra could not maintain their high level of play in 2023, especially in international tournaments, since they were one of the best teams at the regional level. Their worst moment came when they had to take Martin “Saksa” Sazdov out of the starting lineup and emergency signing of Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen.

However, it was no secret to anyone that Topson would not stay in Tundra beyond TI 2023, as the organization planned to do a total rebuild this offseason. Now, 33 left for Team Liquid, while Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu and Oliver “skiter” Lepko followed suit for Team Falcons. Finally, Leon “Nine” Kirilin retired from Dota 2, so the only player currently remaining in Tundra is Topson.

At the moment, the future of Tundra Esports is uncertain, as it is unknown if they will build a squad around Topson or sign 5 new players for the team. On the other hand, 33’s adventure in Team Liquid may be very good and is expected to take the team to new heights.
