In an exhilarating day of VCT Pacific League week 8, RRQ emerged victorious over Talon in a thrilling match, displaying their dominance. Meanwhile, ZETA Division showcased their skills, outclassing Gen.G with a remarkable performance. Both matches were packed with intense gameplay, delivering an action-packed experience for fans. As we are closely moving toward playoffs every game counts as do-or-die for teams.

Here is the day 3 recap of VCT Pacific League week 8:

Talon Esports vs Rex Regum Qeon

RRQ secured a 2-1 victory against Talon Esports, earning their 4th win in the leaderboard. This win eliminates any reliance on other teams and solidifies RRQ’s playoff spot. Conversely, Talon’s hopes for a comeback have been dashed, leaving them out of the tournament with no calculations or scenarios in their favor.

Split

Talon started as attackers on Split and showcased their dominance, securing 9 rounds in the first half. Their unstoppable performance continued even after the side swap, as RRQ failed to secure a single round. Talon emerged victorious with an impressive 13-3 scoreline on the first map.

Ascent

After a brutal defeat on the first map, RRQ staged an impressive comeback on Ascent. They took control in the first half, leading 9-3. In the second half, RRQ contained Talon effectively, allowing them only 1 round. The map ended with a resounding 13-4 score, showcasing RRQ’s payback. However, the series moved on to the decider, adding further excitement to the matchup.

Haven

The decisive map of Haven witnessed intense exchanges as rounds swung back and forth. RRQ took an 8-4 lead in the first half, aided by the flawless flashes and stun support from Saibani “fl1pzjder” Rahmad and Eroll “EJAY” Jule Delfin’s coordinated entry. RRQ continued their valiant effort in the second half, eventually securing a 13-7 victory. Their coordinated gameplay proved instrumental in clinching the map and sealing the series in their favor.

ZETA DIVISION vs Gen.G

The Japanese representative triumphed over the Korean side with a 2-1 victory, propelling themselves to the 4th position in the leaderboard with 5 wins. In contrast, Gen.G finds themselves in an unexpected and challenging position due to 5 losses in a row.

Haven

It all started with Gen. G’s own map pick. To be honest, it was clearly visible that Gen.G were getting too much predictable in terms of positioning during their defense. ZETA effective lurks caught Gen.G most of the time. Being an attacker-favored map it was certain to see ZETA dominance but the scoreline of 8-4 for the first half was indeed disappointing for Gen.G fans. Contrary, the second half was much better executed from Gen.G side. At last, ZETA gets away with the win at a 13-8 score.

Ascent

Getting a lesson from the first map, Gen.G did an incredible comeback on the second map of Ascent. The first-half score ended at 9-3 in Gen. G’s favor which was eventually converted into 13-4. Whether on attack or defense, Gen.G were flawless with their approach. This lead the overall score to tie at 1-1 and we moved to decider Fracture.

Fracture

While fans expected the decider map to produce a nail-biting thriller but it ended up being a dull one-sided affair. The fracture seemed an unpenetrable wall for ZETA. Shota “SugarZ3ro” Watanabe’s splendid gameplay around his smoke leads him to get many opponents down. In the entire map, Gen.G could only score 4 rounds that too on their attack side. Overall, the third and final map fell to ZETA’s hands.

The fourth day of VCT Pacific League week 8 will see teams like Global Esports, T1, DRX, and Team Secret in action. Stay tuned to the official VCT Pacific channel on YouTube and Twitch.
