Many gamers who don’t have next-gen consoles are asking: Can Fortnite be played on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3?

Fortnite is a very popular Battle Royale that has a base of millions of active players, many of whom have recently started playing.

According to different published data, Fortnite has a base of over 400 million accounts created since its launch. This shows how popular this video game is today.

Can Fortnite be played on PS3, Xbox 360, or other old consoles?

Fortnite was launched in September 2017, and since then, it has broken many records regarding the number of active players. There is no doubt that millions of players are on Epic Games servers daily, which is why the game continues to be at the top of the video game charts.

However, while it is true that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are still compatible with popular titles such as Grand Theft Auto V or The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, among others, Fortnite cannot be run on these consoles.

As we know, Fortnite has cartoon-like graphics, so we might think that it would not be a demanding video game, but it is quite the opposite. Even players with Xbox One and PS4 have different problems running Fortnite after the Chapter 4 update.

Unfortunately, the answer is negative for players who would like to try the battle royale on older consoles. Fortnite is unavailable to play on Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii. This is expected to continue to be the case, as it is improbable that Fortnite will return to the Xbox 360 or PS3.

What devices can I play Fortnite on?

Fortnite remains accessible on many different platforms:

  • PC – Through the Epic Games Store
  • PS4, PS4 Slim, PS4 Pro and PS5
  • Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One Series S|X
  • Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite
  • Mobile devices with Android 8 or higher with 4 GB of ram

Although the popular Battle Royale is unavailable for iOS devices due to a lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple, this should change next year in Europe thanks to the upcoming new EU regulations. However, players with iPhones or iPad can play Fortnite through cloud gaming services such as GeForce Now.

GeForce Now is a cloud platform that can be used on any latest-generation mobile device. And if you want to play on older consoles just for the feel, remember that you can also use Xbox 360 or PS3 controllers.
