Fortnite pro and Twitch streamer Cody “Clix” Conrod has been banned for “teaming”. Epic Games has banned the player from the game for the time being and his career is on shaky ground.

Professional Fortnite player Clix has been banned for committing teaming. Many fans believe that the player was unfairly blocked.

The incident happened during the Fortnite Solo Victory Cup on Saturday, April 22nd.

Clix banned for breaking rules

Due to a “teaming” violation at this weekend’s Fortnite Solo Victory Cup, Fortnite pro and streamer Cody “Clix” Conrod has been banned from the game for two weeks. As a result, he is now banned from FNCS Chapter 4 Seasons 2 and 3.

However, many fans saw it very differently and believe that the player is innocent. It is questionable how Clix will continue as a player.

What happened?

During one of his Solo Victory Cup matches, which Clix streamed on his own Twitch channel, he got into an interaction with a sniper and accepted items from them. As usual, someone made a clip of the interaction, which didn’t take long to go viral. This sparked a debate over whether he broke a rule and should be banned. It wasn’t long before Epic Games got wind of it.

The developer immediately removed Clix from the tournament’s leaderboard and imposed a two-week ban. The rule that has allegedly been broken says that teaming (“players working together during the match while on opposing teams”) is forbidden.

Clix won’t be able to compete in the FNCS until Chapter 4, which doesn’t look good for the pro. Epic Games almost never revokes bans and this leaves the player at a dead end.

Clix comments on the incident

Clix went live on Twitch after the lockdown to explain the situation and offer his thoughts on it. He rewatched the game that led to his suspension, pointing out that the sniper was following him around during the match.

The player said he wanted to prove that his opponent was stream sniping in hopes of getting them banned. In the end, both ended up with bans because the sniper splashed him and gave him some materials.

Clix’s current duo partner Evan “Cented” Barron also showed his support for the streamer, explaining that Clix was really all about the stream sniper in Fortnite. Clix had contacted Epic Games and spoken to them about the ban. Still, that hasn’t changed anything.

Because of the suspension, he will miss the following two FNCS tournaments.
