After a complicated season in the LEC, where they even came last in the standings in the Winter Split, the historic esports organization Fnatic managed to secure their direct ticket to Worlds 2023.

Undoubtedly, if we say this after the end of the Winter Split, no one would believe us. At that time, Fnatic’s level of play was really low, and the team’s future was extremely dark. However, after several changes in the lineup during the season and including several key pieces, the Black & Orange squad recovered its essence. They are one of the EMEA representatives in the next Worlds 2023.

Fnatic gets an excellent and well-worked victory against Team BDS with a score of 3-2 to qualify for the season’s most important event. In addition, it is also worth mentioning that, thanks to this victory, the team secured a place among the TOP 3 of the LEC Season Finals 2023.

Fnatic beats Team BDS without Oscarinin

Remember that the Spaniard Oscar “Oscarinin” Muñoz could not play this match and cannot play in the rest of the tournament due to an operation for an injury in one of his hands. However, Fnatic returned to the starting lineup the experienced Martin “Wunder” Hansen, and although the odds could be against them, they managed to take a solid 3-2 victory.

On the other hand, Team BDS will have to play the playoff match in the Worlds Qualifying Series, where they will face Golden Guardians from the LCS.

Fnatic suffer but manages to beat Team BDS

While it is true that Fnatic gave their all and qualified directly to Worlds 2023, this does not mean it was an easy task to complete. Team BDS was an extremely difficult opponent, and they proved it in the BO5 they played.

Black&Orange suffered until the end and had to play all 5 maps to seal their ticket to Worlds 2023. Similarly, it is also fair to highlight the great play of Ivan “Razork” Martin, the other Fnatic Spaniard who also had a spectacular series and was one of the pillars of the Orange victory in this match.

Besides being a victory for the British squad, it is also a great victory for the LoL scene in Spain since there will be 3 Spanish representatives in the most important tournament of the season. We are talking about Javier “Elyoya” Prades (MAD Lions), Oscarinin, and Razork (Fnatic). However, we also have Pablo “Gaax” Perez, who works in Fnatic’s coaching staff.

On the other hand, the victory also means that Fnatic will play in Montpellier for the LEC Season Finals 2023. The team is waiting in the Lower Bracket Final for the loser between MAD Lions and G2 Esports to fight for the pass to the tournament’s Grand Final. Finally, there is still no information about whether Wunder will continue with the team in the tournament or if Oscarinin will have the necessary recovery time to face, at least, the LB Final match.
