BTS Pro Series Season 3: Southeast Asia has been a rough event for Fnatic. With just two matches left to play and a record of 0 wins – 2 draws – 5 losses, the team is waiting for the inevitable: elimination in the Group Stage. And keep in mind, out of 10 participants only two fail to reach the Playoffs. So the disgrace is even bigger for the club. Once the strongest competitor in SEA, now they’re struggling to avoid the last place.

The Results So Far

After replacing Jabz with eyyou, Fnatic lost 3 matches in a row and had to release the newly acquired player after just one week of service. On top of that, the club also lost iceiceice, probably as a result of internal strife. Dota 2 is a highly emotional game and players are prone to flaming each other when a lot of hard work goes down the drain. And after two years of activity and decent results, the captain was removed in hope of a better future, but his replacement was a very poor choice.

Here are Fnatic’s results at BTS Pro Series Season 3: Southeast Asia:

Defeat Against NEW Esports

This was the first warning sign but some people took it as an inevitable failure after a recent roster change. Keep in mind that the match format here is Bo2.

Defeat Against 496 Gaming

This match ended with another quick defeat for Fnatic and by now, people had started to suspect that something was off.

Defeat Against TNC Predator

Absolutely everyone saw this one coming. When you’ve lost so decisively against much weaker opponents, what chance to you stand against one of the strongest competitors in the region?

Following this defeat, Fnatic’ management stepped in and removed the newly signed player. Unfortunately for them, the damage had already been done and iceiceice probably had enough of it. Two new players were quickly brought in, both of them as stand-ins: Forev and Xepher. In this new formula, Fnatic then managed to get two consecutive draws.

Draws

These draws happened against 032 (ninjaboogie’s team) and Execration. Both of these teams are right above Fnatic in the standings table, so the results are completely irrelevant. And this was going to become obvious in Fnatic’s next matches.

More Defeats

Raven and his squad then went on to lose two more matches, this time against very strong opponents: Among Us and BOOM Esports.

Among Us is currently leading the pack with 7 consecutive wins. This is an improvised team made up of superstar players, including Fnatic’s former captain, Jabz. The other 4 names are Whitemon, Kuku, Abed, and 23savage. With the exception of the first, everybody else is a superstar with exceptional past experiences.

BOOM Esports is ranked 2nd in this tournament with 4 wins and 3 draws. Their name should sound familiar to you but if doesn’t, this is Dreamocel’s stack.
