OGA Dota PIT Season 3: China is about to enter its Playoffs Stage. Only 6 of the initial 10 teams are left in the race and in this article I will take a brief look at their chances and how they got here.

Group Stage Results

OGA Dota PIT Season 3: China had a Group Stage that went pretty much according to plan. What’s strange is that PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming were placed in the same group. But even under these conditions, the two teams managed to qualify for the Playoffs by finishing in the 1st and 2nd place respectively.

The complete results were the following:

Group A

  • 1st place: PSG.LGD: 3 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: Vici Gaming: 2 W – 1 L
  • 3rd place: Royal Never Give Up: 1 W – 2 L
  • 4th place: Sparking Arrow Gaming: 0 W – 3 L

Group B

  • 1st place: Team Aster: 3 W – 0 L
  • 2nd place: EHOME: 2 W – 1 L
  • 3rd place: Team MagMa: 1 W – 2 L
  • 4th place: Invictus Gaming: 0 W – 3 L

In Group A, PSG.LGD, Vici Gaming, and Royal Never Give Up advanced to the Playoffs Stage. In Group B, the qualified teams are Team Aster, EHOME, and Team MagMa. It’s quite strange that Invictus Gaming missed the boat, but it seems that they are no longer the strong competitor they used to be just 6 – 12 months ago.

Playoffs Preview

Based on the results of the Group Stage, we will see PSG.LGD and Team Aster in the Upper Bracket Round 2 and the other 4 qualified teams in the Upper Bracket Round 1.

Favorites

The big teams to watch during the rest of OGA Dota PIT Season 3: China are PSG.LGD, EHOME, and Vici Gaming. In Vici’s case, they will probably face serious issues in the Upper Bracket Round 2, assuming they will win against MagMa.

The big favorite of the tournament is PSG.LGD. This team now has a powerful roster, with which they won the title at China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1. And they did it without losing a single game during the Playoffs. In particular, they defeated EHOME in the Grand Final, with a score of 3 – 0. In the same tournament, Vici Gaming finished 3rd. This is a clear sign that the team’s new roster is not bad at all. But it’s definitely not as strong as the old roster. Eurus is really hard to replace. Even 23savage, who is 11,000 MMR, will have a hard time achieving better results with VG than Eurus did.
