The VALORANT Champions 2023 playoffs are in full swing, and after the first Lower Bracket matches, we have Fnatic and EDward Gaming survived to stay alive in the tournament.
Fnatic delivered a blow on the table by crushing FÜT Esports, just as they did during the VCT EMEA League 2023 with a score of 2-0. On the other hand, Bilibili Gaming was no match for regional rival EDward Gaming, who prevailed to take a 2-1 victory.
As a result, both teams are waiting for the losers of the Upper Bracket semifinals to fight to stay alive in VALORANT Champions 2023.
Let’s see what happened in Fnatic and EDG’s matches on the previous day of VALORANT Champions 2023.
Fnatic apply a clean sweep against FÜT Esports
The British squad showed in this series against FÜT Esports why they are still the favorites to lift the champions trophy of this VALORANT Champions 2023. While they now have to fight for their lives in the Lower Bracket, they still have a great chance to do so. FÜT Esports, on the other hand, went home with a new defeat against Fnatic, whom they could not beat during the 2023 season.
It all started in Split, Fnatic’s map pick, where Emir “Alfajer” Ali Beder and Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev dressed as heroes to lead the British squad to victory. In the first half, Fnatic gave a great blow on the table on their attacking side to take a partial victory by 10-2. Then, at the change of sides, FÜT tried to wake up to put some pressure on the British, but this was not enough, as Fnatic won the remaining three rounds to take the victory by 13-5.
Things were a bit different in the second map, Haven, as the Turkish squad showed a little more resistance. However, Fnatic once again stepped up to take the victory. In the first half, FÜT pulled off a very pleasant surprise by taking a 7-5 partial victory on their defensive side. However, this only awakened the beast in Fnatic as, with some spectacular defensive play in the second half, they pulled out a resounding 13-9 victory.

EDG defeat Bilibili Gaming 2-1
The Chinese duel between EDG and Bilibili Gaming left us with a great taste in our mouths, as, after three great maps, EDward Gaming prevailed to take the victory by 2-1. As a result, only one Chinese team is left alive in VALORANT Champions 2023.
The series started in Bind, Bilibili Gaming’s map pick, where EDG surprised a lot by implementing a spectacular offense to take a partial victory in the first half by 10-2. Then, at the change of sides, Bilibili Gaming won the first 2 rounds to try to start a comeback. However, this was not enough, as EDG won three consecutive rounds to take the victory by 13-4.
In the second map, Split, Bilibili woke up, and in what a way, they hit back in a big way to take a win and even the series 1-1. In the first half, Bilibili’s defense repelled EDG’s attacks and got a partial victory by 8-4. Then, at the change of sides, EDG also deployed a great defense that allowed them to equalize the map 12-12; everything would be defined in Overtime. Finally, after 4 rounds in Overtime, Bilibili Gaming took the victory by 15-13.
Finally, in Haven, we had another pitched battle between these two teams, as both showed great play and determination to take the victory. The first half ended with a truly spectacular 6-6 score, making us think this game would be full of action. Finally, in the second half, EDG’s offense was much more than Bilibili Gaming’s defense, and they managed to take the victory by 13-10 and thus stay alive in VALORANT Champions 2023.
