The excitement of the second half of the CS:GO season and BLAST Premier Fall Groups continues, and after the fifth day of competition, Team Liquid advanced to the final of Group C after beating FaZe Clan 2-1. Meanwhile, G2 Esports is still alive after a solid victory over OG by 2-0.

On the other hand, FaZe Clan will have to play against G2 in the Lower Bracket final match to dispute the pass to the Group C Grand Final. Finally, OG became the third team eliminated from the tournament, a terrible debut for this new lineup since they did not win a single map.

Let’s see what happened on the last day of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.

Team Liquid apply a reverse sweep against FaZe Clan

The series between Team Liquid and FaZe Clan was exciting from start to finish, especially after FaZe’s excellent victory on the first map. However, Team Liquid woke up in a great way to win the second and third map, completing an excellent reverse sweep and advancing to the Group C grand final.

It all started on Inferno, Team Liquid’s map pick, where Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken and Helvijs “broky” Saukants became FaZe’s heroes to lead them to victory. In the first half, the international squad and winner of the last Intel Grand Slam managed a partial victory by 11-4. Then, at the change of sides, Liquid tried to wake up by winning seven rounds, but it was not enough, and they fell by 11-16.

In Mirage, the second map, we have Team Liquid started with everything on their side CT with a crushing partial victory in the first half by 12-3. Then, at the change of sides, FaZe Clan wanted to hit back, and they were 14-15 on the scoreboard, but Team Liquid was able to win the last round to take the victory by 16-14 and thus equalize the series 1-1.

Finally, in Anubis, we observed a FaZe Clan that seemed to have spent all their fuel in the second half of Mirage, as we observed a team with no ideas and playing disorganizedly. In the first half, Team Liquid was a real wall that prevented every one of FaZe’s approaches, to the point of being 14-1 ahead on the scoreboard. Then, at the change of sides, FaZe won seven rounds, but their comeback fell short, and Liquid took the victory by 16-8.

G2 Esports crush OG to stay alive in the tournament

G2 Esports displayed their full potential and great level of play in the elimination match against OG, as, with a solid 2-0 victory, they managed to stay alive in the tournament. Moreover, they looked infinitely superior to OG’s new lineup in both maps.

The series began on Ancient, the OG map pick, where G2 started extremely well, winning the first half 9-6. However, the best was yet to come as, switching sides, on their T-side, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač took care of destroying every defensive approach of OG to take a comfortable 16-6 win.

Then, on the second map, Inferno, we had an identical outcome to the first, as G2 Esports, despite starting on the T-side, managed a partial victory in the first half by 10-5. Then, at the change of sides, they continued with their excellent level of play to win again by 16-6 and thus stay alive in the tournament.

As mentioned, G2 Esports will now play FaZe Clan to define the second finalist of Group C in this BLAST Premier Fall Groups.
