With the release of Dota 2 patch 7.32 and its subsequent balancing patch, 7.32b, the game has become filled once more with countless secrets that wait to be discovered. The meta is evolving again and the players are searching for winning strategies.

A big component of Dota is the items. And one of the most important items in the game is the Aghanim’s Scepter. This item either gives your hero new abilities or enhances your existing ones.

Great Aghanim’s Scepters in Dota 2

These are some of the best Aghanim’s Scepters in Dota 2. If you successfully buy one for your hero early enough, the advantages it will give you might be enough to guarantee a victory for your team.

Lycan

Lycan’s Aghanim grants him the Wolf Bite ability, which is practically a second ultimate for a teammate. When Lycan’s team has a powerful melee carry like Sven or Templar Assassin, this ability is overpowered because it effectively creates two Lycans on the battlefield for 25 seconds.

Lich

If you buy Aghs on this hero, it will turn his Sinister Gaze into an AoE ability. And what is even more terrifying, Lich can cast his other spells while channeling this ability for 2.5s. So if he has his ultimate, he can just destroy several heroes with it. An Aghanim’s Scepter on Lich turns him into a broken Magnus.

Jakiro

Jakiro’s Aghs is great if you have another hero on the team who can keep enemies in place for several seconds. A Faceless Void is perfect for this. What the Aghs does is this: Macropyre, Jakiro’s ultimate, gains +400 range, lasts for 25 seconds and deals pure damage that pierces spell immunity. This is great during the mid and late game.

Nyx Assassin

Nyx Assassin’s Aghs gives him the Burrow ability, which makes Nyx invisible and reduces incoming damage by 40%. It also gives him HP and mana regeneration (1% per second) and reduces the cooldown of his Impale by 7 seconds.

Night Stalker

Night Stalker’s Aghs turns his Void into an AoE ability with a 900 radius, centered around him. During nighttime, this ability also min-stuns for 1s, dealing a lot of damage to every target trapped inside of it.

This Aghs is one of the reasons why Night Stalker is such a powerful hero in the current meta. Many professional teams will either pick him or make sure to ban him early into the draft, lest he becomes overpowered during the mid game.
