One of the most successful Brazilian players in the history of CS:GO, Fernando “fer” Alvarenga, has revealed the highest salary he has earned since his early days in the competitive scene of Valve’s shooter.

For many in the community, this is a topic that players don’t usually mention, so almost no one knows for sure how much is the salary of a professional CS:GO player. However, now that he is in retirement and devoted himself only to making streams, the Brazilian has decided to share some data that has surprised more than one in the community.

Fer and his successes in the CS:GO scene

First of all, we should start by talking a bit about the trajectory of this great Brazilian player. His beginnings were in Counter-Strike 1.6, but he only stayed for a year competing professionally due to the launch of CS:GO in 2013. Then, the 31-year-old Brazilian was part of teams such as SK Gaming, MIBR, Luminosity Gaming, Imperial Esports, and 00 Nation.

Fer and his great friend and teammate Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo went on to win many top-level tournaments and, consequently, were at the top of CS:GO worldwide.

Salary of professional CS:GO players

Over the last 10 years, esports have grown exponentially, indicating that the amount of money players earn has also increased significantly. However, as we mentioned, most players and organizations keep these salaries completely secret; this most likely represents only a small fraction of what players earn.

On the other hand, a few days ago, former Team Falcons and G2 Esports player Kenny “kennyS” Schrub revealed that players attending the Major could earn at least $150,000 from just selling in-game items. In addition, he also mentioned that the five players who win the Paris Major could pocket no less than $500,000 to $1,000,000.

Fer reveals how much was his maximum salary as a professional in CS:GO

In one of his latest broadcasts, fer revealed some details regarding his salaries since his career began.

First of all, he started talking about what he earned monthly playing CS 1.6 in 2012, which, at the time, was 200 reais or $40. Then, he mentioned that years later, he got to earn $1,000 monthly, but he pointed out that this money was used to cover the team’s expenses in NA.

Finally, he got to the moment we all wanted to hear. When fer and his team were at the peak of the CS:GO scene, the player revealed that his salary was as high as $42,000 per month.

However, fer did not detail which organization was paying him that salary. Recall that this 31-year-old player at the time was at the top of the scene and managed to win two Majors in 2016. This and many more tournaments won make fer one of the highest-earning CS:GO players in the Americas.

Finally, a fan asked him how much a player’s salary in a Tier 1 organization is, to which fer answered that the figures are close to $30,000.

There is no doubt that this is a great revelation from one of the players who has earned the most money playing CS:GO professionally. In addition, this could also work as motivation for those talented young players who want to reach the highest competitive level in this great game.
