Riot Games, the organizer behind this esports extravaganza, has introduced significant format changes that promise to make Worlds 2023 one of the most exciting editions to date. With best-of-three series, a Swiss-style group stage, and a brand-new Worlds Qualifying Event, the tournament is set to keep fans on the edge of their seats throughout.

LCS:

The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), North America’s premier competitive league, has handpicked NRG, Cloud9, and Team Liquid to carry its banner into the global showdown of Worlds 2023 NRG, freshly returned to the LCS, comes in with an air of rejuvenation. Their stacked roster and impressive performances in the LCS 2023 Championship led to their qualification.

Meanwhile, Cloud9, a fan favorite, boasts a rich history of international appearances and is determined to leave an indelible mark on the tournament. Lastly, Team Liquid, with a roster featuring a Worlds 2022 winner in Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon, adds another layer of excitement to North America’s representation. LPL:

The LPL is sending a formidable quartet to Worlds 2023. JD Gaming (JDG), as the top seed, heads into the tournament as one of the favorites after their victory in the LPL spring split and the MSI 2023.

Bilibili Gaming (BLG) and LNG Esports secured their spots, promising intense competition from China. Weibo Gaming, making its world debut, adds another layer of intrigue with its star-studded roster.

LCK:

The LCK, a historically dominant region, is well-represented at Worlds. Gen.G, fresh off their LCK 2023 Summer Championship win, is eager to prove themselves after a fourth-place finish at MSI 2023. It is clear that T1 will give their all to expand their regional dominance into global supremacy even despite the wrist injury suffered by superstar Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok.

KT Rolster, making their first Worlds appearance since 2018, is determined to shine. Dplus Kia (formerly Damwon) with their roster of stars aims to reclaim the glory they achieved in Worlds 2020.

LEC:

Europe’s LEC is poised for a strong showing at Worlds 2023. MAD Lions and G2 Esports, both with impressive histories, are ready to make their mark. Fnatic, another LEC heavyweight, joins the fray to add to the region’s competitive depth.

Worlds Qualifying Series:

For the fourth seed from the LEC and LCS, the journey to Worlds 2023 isn’t over yet.
