FaZe Clan drop their VALORANT lineup

After the 2023 VALORANT regular season ended, most teams that did not complete their goals are making different changes in their structure. However, others, like FaZe Clan, decided to drop their entire lineup, so all players become unrestricted free agents. In addition, the organization may withdraw completely from the VALORANT competitive scene.

There is no doubt that this is extremely unexpected news for the entire community and even more so considering how successful this organization is. However, the fact that they could not be part of the VCT franchises makes many organizations rethink their permanence in the Challengers scene.

FaZe Clan drop its VALORANT lineup

Through a post on their official Twitter account, FaZe Clan announced that they are dropping their entire VALORANT male lineup. Also, from what is mentioned in the post, we can think that this is a goodbye, as everything seems to indicate that the organization will completely leave VALORANT’s male scene.

As we noted in the post, this means that Kevin “poised” Ngo, Andrej “babybay” Francisty, Phat “supamen” Le, Tanner “TiGG” Spanu, and Anthony “mummAy” DiPaulo are now unrestricted free agents.

On the other hand, it is also worth noting that FaZe Clan is not the first team to leave the VALORANT Challengers scene after the end of the season. Let’s recall that TSM, MAD Lions, Disguised, and G2 Esports also dropped their lineups. However, unlike these organizations, it seems FaZe is not considering a new lineup for next season.

The fact that FaZe thanked the players during their “time on the scene” makes us think this is an imminent departure from the VALORANT scene. Also, they don’t mention if they will be back for next season, something TSM did in a post.

On the other hand, it’s also worth noting that FaZe still has a VALORANT lineup, but female, which is playing in Game Changers. This team has everything in hand to qualify for the GC main event.

FaZe’s future

FaZe’s future in different divisions may be in jeopardy at the moment. As in the last hours, some reports detail that FaZe is considering a change of ownership. According to the reports, GameSquare (owners of Complexity) and Enthusiast Gaming (owners of Luminosity, Seattle Surge, and Vancouver Titans) would be the main candidates to take over FaZe Clan.

Remember that FaZe Clan is an important force within the esports ecosystem since they have a very important lineup in the CS:GO scene. In addition, they also have teams from COD (Atlanta FaZe), Apex Legends, Halo, R6, and Rocket League.

We can only wait for the outcome of this story and official announcements from the organization.
