BLAST Premier Fall Groups is about to begin and group A will be very interesting to watch. Team Vitality, the strongest team in the world, will need to best opponents like Evil Geniuses and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

If something goes wrong, they might run into Complexity as well. And if things go really wrong, they might end up facing some of the other eight teams as well. In groups B and C, there are lots of exceptional teams that are waiting to prove themselves.

Group B features Heroic, BIG, Natus Vincere, and Astralis. Group C will be a battle between FaZe Clan and G2 Esports, but OG and Team Liquid might cause some problems too.

Group A favorites

The teams in group A are relatively weak compared to those from the other two groups, with one exception: Vitality. Because of this, the squad carried by Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut should have a very easy path to BLAST Premier: Fall Finals. If they finish second in their group, that would be a huge surprise.

To be fair, we do need to see Vitality compete with Shahar “flameZ” Shushan as their new roster member. As everyone knows by now, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen has been benched and he’s waiting to join TSM’s CS:GO team. This means that the Paris Major winners will need to integrate a new player and that usually takes months.

Luckily for Vitality, Evil Geniuses haven’t done anything significant in years, while Ninjas in Pyjamas recently changed their IGL. This means that both teams should be relatively easy to beat.

The biggest challenge in this group for the French seems to be Complexity. That’s because this North American team signed one of the best players in the region just several weeks ago. Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski is a man of great skill and it’s quite shocking that Liquid decided to let him go.

Obviously, he wanted to remain in the US, while Liquid’s CS:GO team was moved to Europe, where the organization’s Dota 2 team is located. With EliGE on the roster, Complexity might transform into a very powerful NA squad that can realistically challenge the European ones.

Vitality will dodge both NiP and Complexity in their first match because their opponent will be EG. After this match, which should be a quick 2-0 or at least a 2-1 if Vitality’s roster is still strong after the change, the real battles will start. And then we’ll see if letting go of dupreeh was a good idea or not.
