The first stage of PGL Major Copenhagen ended well for Eternal Fire. This is one of the most promising upcoming teams of 2024. Their 9th – 12th place finish from IEM Katowice and the fact that they qualified for the Major clearly indicates that the potential for greatness is there.

This is a team full of Counter-Strike veterans, including the IGL, MAJ3R, as well as woxic and XANTARES. Some of them have been competing professionally for 10 years.

Eternal Fire’s Performance

In stage 1 of PGL Major Copenhagen, Eternal Fire played four matches. They started with an easy victory against The MongolZ: 13 – 6 on Nuke. This result did not require much effort and woxic’s performance alone was enough to guarantee a much-needed victory.

In the second match, EF had an even easier time. The opponent was paiN Gaming and the score, 13 – 2, speaks for itself. At that point we already knew that the Turks would qualify for stage 2. The only question was: will they do it flawlessly or would they need 4 or 5 matches?

The third match was played against HEROIC and it did not go well for them. However, they nearly won the first map after losing the first half 9 – 3. The final score was 16 – 14. On the second map, they had the advantage after the first half (5 – 7) but lost the second half 8 – 0.

In the 4th round, the opponent was GamerLegion. And to everyone’s surprise, EF lost the first map 4 – 13. But on the next two maps, they played much better and completed the comeback: 13 – 2 on Inferno and 13 – 11 on Vertigo.

XANTARES and Wicadia were the ones who carried the team. The others played reasonably well. The only one who struggled a bit was MAJ3R.

With this 3 W – 1 L result, EF qualified for the next stage of the Copenhagen Major. It is doubtful that they will finish in the top eight, but at least we’ll get to see them competing for one more week.

In this second stage, teams like Natus Vincere, Team Spirit, G2 Esports, FaZe Clan, and Team Vitality will be very hard to beat. These are the competitors that everyone is looking forward to seeing in action and one of them will likely win the trophy.
