After much controversy in recent days following Old G’s disqualification from the DPC WEU 2023 Tour 2: Division II, almost all players have decided to leave the team.
All this comes from the fact that two players from the Old G lineup were part of the OG and BetBoom lineups as substitutes. We are talking about Kartik “Kitrak” Rathi (OG) and Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok (BetBoom). During the Berlin Major 2023, Old G was supposed to play a very important match against PuckChamp, which was nothing less than to fight for their place in Division II. However, the team could not field four players from the lineup for the match. In the end, Old G could not attend the game and lost their Division II berth.
Ceb blasts PGL for failing to help in the situation
Sébastien “Ceb” Debs, one of the best-known players in the Dota 2 scene and a former member of Old G, posted a very strong message against PGL, criticizing them and exposing that one of their administrators did not provide support in the situation.
two players standing in to help out major teams, not allowed to reschedule a game scheduled same time as major to keep our slot for div 2, not allowed to use two standins @pglesports @AnekoMerkki very fun stuff, provided 0 care / help besides stating the rules over & over again

After the Berlin Major 2023 ended, PGL, through a Twitter statement, announced that Old G was disqualified from the current competition, that is, from the closed qualifiers for this season’s Summer Tour.

The reasons for the disqualification are clear: the PGL alleges that Ceb threatened, harassed, and exposed one of the PGL staff members, thus, violating the rules of conduct. As a result, Old G will now have to play open qualifiers to advance to the Summer Tour. However, following this announcement, players have been dropping off the team’s roster as the days have passed.
Resolution is the only survivor in Old G
After they were disqualified from the closed playoffs, the team’s roster underwent major changes. According to Dota 2’s official squad page, Kitrak, Volodymyr “No[o]ne-” Minenko, and Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen all left the lineup shortly after the Berlin Major ended.
In addition, it also recently became known that Ceb dropped out of the lineup, leaving Resolution alone in the squad.

Now, with the team’s disqualification, the loss of their spot in Division II of the DPC, and the departure of four of their players, many in the community are seriously questioning the team’s future. While it is true that there is still no official announcement from the team, let alone the players, everyone is waiting to see what will happen with each of these players who, without a doubt, could be very desirable to other teams.
On the other hand, Old G could have a terrible impact on their performance from now on, as finding four players of a great level at this point of the season is complicated. Also, creating a team quickly is a challenge for anyone.
