Entropiq parts ways with coach hooch

Dmitry “hooch” Bogdanov, the longtime coach of the popular CS:GO organization Entropiq, has entered free agency after spending 20 months with the Czech organization.

After putting the complete roster on the transfer list in October 2022, Entropiq has now cut ties with its head coach Dmitry “hooch” Bogdanov. The 35-year-old coach joined the organization in May 2021, when the Czech organization acquired the EPG Family roster to enter the CS:GO scene.

The squad performed admirably in their inaugural season, winning numerous B-tier competitions and qualifying for the 2021 PGL Stockholm Major, where the team secured a 9th-11th position. The squad won Pinnacle Fall Series 2 and CCT North Europe Series 1 before achieving a high of No. 9 in the world rankings.

The Russian coach also contributed to the team’s second-place finish at ESEA Premier Season 39 Europe and Funspark ULTI 2021. The squad, however, has had a few unsuccessful campaigns in the 2022 season, notably missing out on the PGL Antwerp Major and the IEM Rio Major. Following the disastrous season, the organization decided to cut ties with the roster, putting all five players on the transfer list.

Daniel Kloud, the CEO of Entropiq, claimed that the team did not meet its objectives in 2022 and that the Russian invasion of Ukraine had a negative impact on the organization’s operations. The Entropiq instance clearly illustrates how geopolitical conflicts can have drastic consequences on every industry, including esports, which has a huge fan following in Russia.

Where is the former Entropiq roster now?

Vladislav “Krad” Kravchenko, a former Entropiq player, was acquired by forZe in December of last year, while Aleksey “NickelBack” Trofimov, Aleksey “El1an” Gusev and Nikolay “mir” Bityukov are still free agents. It is unclear whether the remaining ex-Entropiq members will stick together for 2023 or whether they will individually look out for separate offers. Given that nearly every CS:GO team in the area is already loaded with talented players, it’s unlikely that any organization will sign them as a stack at this time.

Although more information is still lacking on the move, it’s possible that the Russian coach hooch is linked to Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov’s alleged new project. According to reports from HLTV, Boombl4 is planning to form a roster that includes popular players like Igor “Forester” Bezotecheskiy. This roster would play under the BetBoom banner. On the other side, Entropiq will place all of its eggs in Entropiq Prague’s casket, the organization’s Balkan CS:GO roster.
