Dupreeh Remains In Contention To Make It To All 20 Counter-Strike Majors

Though he was never considered the best player in the world, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen is undoubtedly the most consistent player in Counter-Strike history. With his new team, Preasy, dupreeh desires to rewrite CS history.

The PGL Copenhagen Major is just around the corner, and a lot of interesting storylines are being developed. Let’s take a look at dupreeh’s side of the book!

The Biggest Flex In Counter-Strike

ZywOo and s1mple were crowned the best players in the world three times each, which is cool, but dupreeh has an even bigger flex.

The Dane is the only player in Counter-Strike to have attended every Counter-Strike Major, as he’s done it nineteen times. Do you know how hard it is to stay at the top throughout a decade?

Three players stand behind dupreeh in this statistic, which are Dan “apEX” Madesclaire, Richard “shox” Papillon, and Finn “karrigan” Andersen, all tied at seventeen Major appearances.

Not only has dupreeh played in every Major, but he has also won five of them, making him the only player to have won that many Majors. His four former teammates in Astralis are all tied at four Majors.

Dupreeh got his fifth Major title in BLAST Paris Major in 2023, the most recent Counter-Strike Major, where he lifted the trophy with ZywOo and apEx in Team Vitality. However, Shahar “flameZ”Shushan replaced him in the team shortly after the win.

Dupreeh Joins Preasy

After getting booted from Vitality, dupreeh found himself in Heroic for a couple of months. Since the contract was temporary, the 30-year-old chose not to extend it and left the team at the end of 2023.

Due to dupreeh’s kick from Vitality being quite sudden, most teams had already solidified their five-man rosters, so it was difficult for dupreeh to find a Tier 1 team in such a short time.

With all these limitations, the Counter-Strike legend found his new home in Preasy, a promising Danish stack but certainly a downgrade of what teams we’re used to seeing dupreeh in. His new team featured a few familiar names and young, up-and-coming talent from Denmark.

The Preasy roster includes:

  • Alexander “Altekz” Givskov
  • Thomas “TMB” Bundsbæk
  • Ismail “refrezh” Ali
  • Fredrik “roeJ” Christensen
  • Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen

Road To His 20th Major

With his new squad, dupreeh set sail to the PGL Copenhagen Major, the first CS2 Major, which will be located in his home country.

Preasy battled through the Open Qualifier and booked a spot in the Closed Qualifier, where European titans would be found.

The Danish squad had an excellent start to their run in the Swiss Stage, defeating Entropiq 13-11 in their first match. However, they were defeated by Astralis and Team Spirit to put themselves one game away from elimination.

Now that the Best of 3 format is kicking in, dupreeh proved his experience by defeating FORZE 2-1 to stay alive in the qualifier. Unfortunately, they were defeated by MOUZ, one of the top teams in the world, and sent to the Last Chance Qualifier.

To qualify for the RMR, dupreeh had to defeat 3DMAX in a Best of 3, which he eventually did after top-fragging for his team.

This old man will go to the European RMR for a chance to qualify for his 20th Major and remain the only player to attend every Major in Counter-Strike. Keep in mind that dupreeh could achieve these results despite being in the team for less than a month. Let’s cheer him on!
