DreamLeague Season 19 is about to begin and the tournament features two groups of eight participants. The action takes place online and you can watch it on ESL’s Dota 2 channels.

Group B is full of strong teams, four of which could easily win not only this competition, but also the upcoming Berlin Major and even The International 2023.

Group B favorites

Here are the group B participants of DreamLeague S19:

  • Beastcoast
  • Nouns
  • OG
  • LGD
  • Talon Esports
  • Team Liquid
  • Team Spirit
  • Tundra Esports

Given that only four of these teams will survive the first stage of the tournament, it will be interesting to see who the winners are. Based on what we’ve seen in Tour 2 of Dota Pro Circuit 2023, Team Liquid, Talon Esports, Team Spirit, and Tundra Esports should be the teams that advance to the second round.

But PSG.LGD, beastcoast, and even OG are not that far behind in terms of skill. The only problem is that the four favorites are possibly the best teams in the world right now, or at least in the top eight.

Team Liquid finished Tour 2 with a record of 6 W – 1 L, but the loss was clearly a fluke. If they play their usual game, Liquid cannot lose this group.

Despite being in good form, Spirit are not that likely to be the winners. But they should certainly qualify for the next stage. Their roster is almost identical to the one that won The International 10 and the regional results from Tour 1 (6 W – 1 L) and Tour 2 (6 W – 1 L) clearly suggest that they are still capable of great accomplishments.

Everyone is eager to see Talon and their superstar player, Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon. He was the first player ever to reach 13.000 MMR and he is just 21 years old. At the Lima Major, Talon finished third thanks to his performances. If he plays his usual game, his team should prove capable of at least surviving the first round.

Tundra Esports finished second in Tour 2, and that result means a lot because they compete in Western Europe’s first division. Despite losing two matches, Tundra are still the TI champions and the current meta favors their versatile play style and their tactic of switching hero roles at the last moment.

For OG and nouns, there is very little hope in this group. But perhaps beastcoast and PSG.LGD will cause some upsets if they’re well prepared. It’s hard to be optimistic about their chances, but you never know.
