The Vici Gaming owner was apparently quite unhappy with his team’s results at DPC CN 2023. According to CN Dota in A Nutshell on Twitter, he has vowed to disband the entire lineup if VG fails to qualify for The International 2023.

The report states that the VG players asked for a pay rise ahead of the season. The team owner believes they’ve settled into a salary they’re “too comfortable living with”. He has said, “If they don’t make it to TI, he’ll never be okay with it.” The owner also reportedly joked that he never wants to see Zhou “Yang” Haiyang in his life again.

Vici Gaming has been relegated to 2nd Div

Vici Gaming has been relegated to the second division of the DPC after finishing seventh in the Spring Tour. The team has lost all chance of qualifying for the TI via DPC points and can only hope for regional qualifiers and the last chance stage, if there is one at all this year.

While Vici Gaming performed poorly at the regional level throughout the last DPC season, the team improved massively during the regional qualifier and secured a place in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). However, the team fell short of qualifying for The International 2022 (TI11) by a step, finishing fourth at the LCQ.

Changes to the roster didn’t help?

After the season, the organization announced that it had parted ways with mid laner Guo “Xm” Hongcheng, support Pan “Frisk” Yi (aka Fade), and coach Wang “Liekkas” Yutian, since their contracts expired after the TI11.

Setsu was last seen at Royal Never Give Up as a starting mid laner, having joined the organization since its inception in 2018. However, the Chinese mid laner has not been active in the competitive scene since last year due to health reasons.

fy, on the other hand, is no stranger to Vici Gaming, having been with the organization since its inception in 2013. He has established himself as one of the best supports in the world at Vici Gaming, and helped the team reach the first TI Grand Finals at The International 2014 (TI4), which they failed to win.
