After several weeks of absolute silence from Valve, we can say that we have good news for the entire CS:GO community, soon CS2. On June 6, the developers released an update to Counter-Strike 2 and published details that the new game will have at its global launch.

In addition to different new mechanics, such as buying/selling at the time of purchase, as allowed in VALORANT, it was also revealed that players will now be able to test in Mirage, leaving Dust 2 out of the limited beta.

There is no doubt that every time we have new information regarding CS2, the community explodes, as these are innovative features in Valve’s shooter. The graphics, the gameplay, and now the purchase mechanics give a 180° turn to the game.

CS2 players can play in Mirage

The long-awaited CS2 update last June 6 brought with it some new features and the inclusion of a familiar but as yet untested map in the game, Mirage.

As a result, Dust 2, which had somewhat “tired” players, will come out of limited beta, and now we will have new feedback from those privileged to access the CS2 beta. Moreover, this update comes on a striking date, as June 6 marked ten years since the official release of Mirage in CS:GO in 2013.

About Mirage

Mirage is one of the most iconic and popular maps in the CS:GO scene. While it is true that the map was present in the later stages of Counter-Strike 1.6, this was not as popular in the community as it has been in CS:GO.

Michael “BubkeZ” Hull designs this map in full collaboration with Valve, and, unlike Inferno and Dust 2, this map has remained almost identical since its release.

Remember that Dust 2 is the most popular map in the game’s entire history, as this one has been around for many years. However, when Valve removed Dust 2 from the official map pool in 2017, players began to declare their absolute love for Mirage. Even according to statistics revealed by HLTV, Mirage has been played more than 23,000 times in the professional CS:GO scene.

About CS2 – What We Know So Far

As we know, Valve announced the release of CS2 last March 22, 2023, and presented some new features in different videos. We observed the new smoke grenade mechanics, new sounds, map lighting, and more.

Since then, a select group of players selected practically with a pincer, have been able to enjoy this limited game beta, but only in the Competitive and Deathmatch game modes and in Dust 2.

Now, after a silence of several months, Valve has released a major update in which it introduced new features to the game, and as of June 6, it is available to play in Mirage. This is excellent news since the community that had access to the game was tired of playing only in Dust 2, and this caused many to stop playing this beta.

While it is true that only Mirage was added and Dust 2 was removed from the CS2 limited test, players are very excited to try out the new mechanics on one of the most popular and iconic maps in the Counter-Strike era.
