While it is true that in recent hours there were many rumors that Rory “dephh” Jackson was no longer part of Sentinels, the player has confirmed the news through different Tweets.

It is no secret that Sentinels, with its roster of talented players, is disappointing in the VCT Americas League due to the poor performance shown so far. As a result, the organization has had to decide to part ways with one of the most experienced players in its lineup, dephh.

Dephh confirms his departure from Sentinels by mutual agreement

On his Twitter account, dephh confirmed the decision to part ways with Sentinels before the VCT Americas regular season ends. In addition, the British player assured that this decision was made in mutual agreement with the organization and that he had decided not to continue playing.

In their quest to achieve the miraculous qualification for the VCT Americas League playoffs, Sentinels got Tyson “TenZ” Ngo to return to the lineup for the team’s last two games. On the other hand, in the latest Twitter interaction regarding his VALORANT team, Sentinels did not mention dephh as part of the team’s starting lineup, which gave way to many rumors about the Brit’s departure from the team.

It is also worth noting that when it was decided to bench TenZ because he contracted COVID-19 and had a finger injury, Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen took his place in the lineup. However, after several games, the organization left Marved permanently in the team’s lineup for the remainder of the tournament. As a result of this and the return of TenZ, one player had to be sacrificed; in this case, it was dephh.

About dephh

The 31-year-old Briton had been a part of Sentinels since the organization announced its powerhouse lineup heading into the 2023 VCT season. At that time, the player signed a contract through 2024 and would play with former teammate Zachary “Zekken” Patrone and be coached by Donald “SyykoNT” Muir.

In 2022, dephh gave an excellent level when playing for XSET, as they managed to play the VALORANT Champions 2022 and VCT Stage 2 Masters Copenhagen. The IGL tried to replicate its successes in Sentinels. However, they did not fare well in the LOCK//IN as they finished in last place and are close to missing the VCT Americas playoffs.

In his official statement, dephh mentions that part of the responsibility for Sentinels’ poor performance lies with him. In addition, he also noted that he is a free agent right now, but he will take a break to think about what he will do in the future.

Sentinels arrive without backup in the last two weeks of VCT Americas

With the confirmation of Dephh’s departure from the Sentinels lineup, the team now has only five active players with them. Recall that Hunter “SicK” Mims remains the team’s sixth player, but reports indicate that he is still suspended due to his March 2023 arrest.

In addition, a few days ago, news came out that Sick was arrested again for the same previous offense (breaking), but he was released a day later. On the other hand, the player has been demonstrating erratic behavior on his social networks and Twitch in the last few hours, expressing racist comments to his fans.
