Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel is parting ways with Luminosity Gaming after more than two years of being part of the organization as its leading content creator. Undoubtedly, xQc contributed significantly to the organization’s growth on the streaming platforms.

xQc is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch today and has nearly 11.5 million followers. Despite his departure from Luminosity Gaming, the streamer will continue to create content from his Twitch channel.

About xQc

Felix “xQc” Lengyel is a French-Canadian streamer who has grown in popularity since the start of his career in 2016. While his beginnings were with Overwatch, recent months have seen him spend much time streaming games like Minecraft, Escape from Tarkov, VALORANT, and GTA 5.

Without going too far, from January 8-14, 2023, xQc accumulated 3,411,324 viewing hours, according to StreamCharts. In addition, Luminosity Gaming has also been named the best esports community on Twitch, concerning viewing hours in 2021, with 40 million views among all of its creators.

As we noted, Luminosity announced that xQc was leaving the organization with a video where they show the best streamer moments in the team.

Reasons for xQc to leave Luminosity Gaming

Shortly after the announcement, xQc made a Livestream where he provided relevant information about his departure from the organization. The streamer assured that he had a one-year contract and had decided not to renew it.

The French-Canadian streamer also noted that there were differences in “certain projects and aspirations” and said:

“I have, like, certain projects and aspirations that are…. kind of like… I would assume… you know, that are like… different. So, I just didn’t renew. But I really appreciate the people that worked over there, though.”

During the broadcast, xQc mentioned that he is now part of free agency and assured all his fans that nothing would change after he departs from Luminosity Gaming:

“I’m no longer with any orgs. I’m now on my own. I mean, you know? Well, it’s fine. Well, because it’s not that anything bad happened. The contract was up. I’m a free agent! What does that mean? It means nothing, literally. It doesn’t mean anything will change in a little bit. The contract was up.”

xQc mentioned that his projects were not in the same vein as those of the North American organization:

“I just had different projects that I wanted to do that are not in the same, like, not wavelength, but it’s a different direction. I’m not being a PR Andy. I’m just telling you. There’s no point in being rude to people for no reason if there’s no reason to be rude about them.”

Fans showed their support

Many streamer fans showed their support for the departure of Luminosity Gaming and wished him luck in his upcoming projects.

On the other hand, others started guessing what xQc’s next destination would be, dropping names of popular organizations such as 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses, OpTic, and Dallas Fuel.

Despite being a very controversial streamer, we can’t deny that xQc has reached many significant milestones thanks to his streams. After his signing with Luminosity Gaming in 2020, he established a solid and loyal fan base on Twitch.

It is still unclear what will happen with xQc’s future, whether he will join some organization or continue solo. But at this stage of his career, it is understandable that the streamer will decide to do his own thing for some time.
