Perfect World Esports, the CS2 Asia Championship 2023 organizers, announced all the details regarding the tournament that will be played next week in Shanghai, China.

This tournament brings together 8 top-level teams fighting for a prize pool of $500,000. Some of these teams qualified for the tournament through some regional qualifiers, while others were invited directly by the organizers. One way or another, we will have a tournament full of emotions, where the team with the most determination will prevail.

CS2 Asia Championships 2023 – Format

The CS2 Asia Championships 2023 will have two groups of four teams facing each other in a Double Elimination (GSL) format. The opening matches of each group are played in best-of-1 (BO1), while the remaining matches are best-of-three (BO3).

The top 3 teams in each group advance to the tournament playoffs, where the first-place team qualifies directly to the semifinals. Then, the second place starts from the Quarterfinals (High Seeds), while the third place of each group starts from the Quarterfinals (Low Seeds).

Finally, in the playoffs, we will have a Single-Elimination format where all matches are best-of-three (BO3). At this point, every match is do-or-die since a team that loses a team that goes home empty-handed.

CS2 Asia Championships 2023 – Groups and Match Schedule

First of all, we should mention that we suffered a couple of unexpected changes from the originally invited teams. Team Liquid and G2 Esports decided to withdraw from the tournament, and NiP and Wings Up joined.

As a result, the Groups of the CS2 Asia Championships 2023 are as follows:

Group A

  • ENCE
  • Astralis
  • Lynn Vision
  • TYLOO

Group B

  • MOUZ
  • FaZe Clan
  • NiP
  • Wings Up Gaming

Next, we bring you the match schedule for the first day in both groups.

Group A

  • ENCE vs. TYLOO – November 8 at 05:00 CET
  • Astralis vs. Lynn Vision – November 8 at 06:30 CET

Group B

  • MOUZ vs. Wings Up – November 9 at 05:00 CET
  • FaZe Clan vs. NiP – November 9 at 06:30 CET

As we can see, we will have great battles in the arena, as we will have teams of FaZe Clan, ENCE, and MOUZ, which have proven very strong at the beginning of the CS2 era. Likewise, NiP and Astralis will try to return to being the strong teams they have been throughout their history.

Finally, the Chinese teams will add extra excitement by playing at home, as there is no doubt that the local fans will have mixed feelings in this tournament. One way or another, we are in for a spectacular tournament and, best of all, a CS2 of the highest level.
