CoD Mobile Season 1 2023: New Weapons & Perks and more

As in previous years, CoD Mobile will release a new season update in 2023, however, instead of continuing with a twelfth season, we find ourselves in Season 1 again as the cycle starts over.

Following the conclusion of 2022 season, a new beginning is imminent and as you’d expect, it’s packed with lots of new content that fans have come to appreciate. From new maps and equipment to new features, everything is included.

Date and theme of the new season

An official release date for the brand-new season has not yet been confirmed, but thanks to the current Battle Pass countdown, we already have a rough target in mind. As the battle pass for this season expires on Thursday, January 14, we can assume that Season 1 will be released at the same time.

But as always, unforeseen delays can thwart these plans. The title of the first season hasn’t been announced either, but the theme is likely to be Lunar New Year, in a nod to Activision’s other titles like Overwatch 2.

In the first teaser for the first season, we see players fighting in a festive version of Nuketown, which was called Nuketown Temple last year. So we can expect the second limited mode to make a comeback.

New weapons and equipment on the test server

Thanks to the test server, we already have a good idea of ​​what to expect in the update, although nothing has been officially announced yet. Every few months there is a new update for the CoD Mobile test server, where the developers experiment with new items and features before they finally end up in the game. This is often where we get our first glimpse of new content that’s just a few weeks away from release.

This time we got a glimpse of a new weapon, a perk, a scorestreak, and new tactical gear. Whether we’ll see all these new features in Season 1 isn’t clear, but they’re sure to be rolled out throughout the year.

New weapon

The new weapon is the Dingo LMG, a powerful futuristic weapon first seen in Black Ops 3. This rifle offers a decent amount of damage and accurate aiming at the cost of some mobility.

New Perk

As for the new perk, unit support was spotted in the last test version. It reads: “Players gain 20% of the Operator Ability Charge gained from each teammate kill; however, the charge they gain themselves is reduced by 60%. Players receive 4% of scorestreak charge received from teammates; this bonus is increased to 10% when they capture the hard point.”

The Wheelson from Modern Warfare 2019 is apparently coming to CoD Mobile soon, as this 750 expensive scorestreak has also been spotted in the latest test build. And finally, also from Modern Warfare, comes the Stim Shot, a piece of gear that drastically increases health regeneration and movement speed for a short duration.

We’ll have to wait a bit longer for an official announcement, but we’ll definitely have more info on the Season 1 update soon.
