BetBoom announces role changes to its Dota 2 lineup

Through a somewhat flashy announcement, BetBoom announced a role change in its Dota 2 lineup for the DPC EEU 2023 Tour 3: Division I. Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko and Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko will swap their roles to do some testing for the remainder of the season.

Such changes are made by teams that have performed poorly during a tournament or during a season. However, in the case of BetBoom, this is not the case, as the team managed to finish in third place in the DPC EEU 2023 Tour 2: Division I, and thanks to this, the team was able to qualify for the Berlin Major.

Unfortunately for the team and the fans, Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, the team’s offlaner, could not play in the Major, as he was not allowed to enter Germany. As a result, Old G player Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok had to wear the BetBoom jersey as a substitute.

Through its Twitter account, BetBoom announced that Nightfall and Pure would change their roles heading into the DPC EEU 2023 Tour 3: Division I. As a result, Nightfall will now be in position 1, while Pure will play as an offlane.

These moves do not surprise the team’s fans, as days before the start of the Major, everything pointed to the team making this tactical change to improve performance in Berlin. However, Pure’s visa problems prevented this, and the team tactically remained the same.

BetBoom’s performance in the Berlin Major was disappointing, as they were eliminated in the tournament’s Group Stage. So, this change of roles may bring the team back to that spectacular level they showed throughout Tour 2.

On the other hand, it is worth noting that Nightfall is an extremely versatile player and is no stranger to position 1, as he played in that role when he belonged to Virtus.pro. Then, when he signed for Evil Geniuses, he showed great skills as a laner, demonstrating many qualities in this player that labeled him as flexible.

Pure must face this great challenge

Pure, unlike Nightfall, is a player who has played almost all his career in position 1 and, playing professionally, has little or no experience playing in the offlane role. Recall that Pure was the Carry of Entity, Virtus.pro, and BetBoom.

As a result, his teammates and coaches will need to help him adapt quickly to his new role. In addition, it should be noted that BetBoom’s success on Tour 3 may depend solely on how Pure performs in his new position.
