Astralis named the GOAT team of CS:GO

Undoubtedly, with the imminent arrival of CS2 and the end of the CS:GO era, the game community is paying a kind of “tribute” to those players and teams that delighted us with a great level of play throughout history. All of this is a “farewell” to the game that has undoubtedly captivated us for the last 10 years.

Speaking specifically about the teams and, with the help of HLTV, one of the biggest Counter-Strike digital media, the community concluded that Astralis are the GOAT of CS:GO, i.e., the best team of all time.

There is no doubt that this discussion has been going on for many years on social networks, and a consensus was never reached. However, HLTV decided to end this debate with a definitive poll, and there was no doubt that the imminent winner was Astralis. On its official website, HLTV shared a poll where fan votes would determine the best team ever.

For many of us who witnessed the Astralis era several years ago, there was no doubt that they are the best team in the game’s history. After the voting, HLTV shared the results in a post on their Twitter account, mentioning that Astralis was the overall winner.

The Astralis era that captivated us all was between 2018 and 2021, when the team won it all, including 21 titles, 4 Majors, and an Intel Grand Slam.

The famous Astralis lineup consisted of the following players:

• Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz
• Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen
• Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander
• Emil “Magisk” Reif
• Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth
• Danny “zonic” Sørensen – Head Coach

This lineup was unrivaled at the time, and, in this vote, they took no less than 59% of the votes. In a Bracket similar to the ones we see in tournaments, the Astralis lineup annihilated all their rivals, including NaVi, in the Grand Final.

In addition to the milestones mentioned above, Astralis is also the only team to achieve a back-to-back-to-back since they won 3 Major in a row, something that, until now, no team has replicated, and it is very complicated for them to do so due to the high competitive level that currently exists.

Now, when we are in the twilight of CS:GO, we can be 100% sure that the Astralis of 2018-2021 were the best team in the history of the game.
