Popular Twitch streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel finished the Minecraft speedrun in just 20 minutes and 5 seconds, shattering Sebastian “Forsen” Fors’s previous record set two years ago.

Minecraft isn’t really recognized as an esports game, but ever since the game got an actual ending, speedrunning through the game has become a popular pastime for many former professional players. Twitch Streamer xQc finally succeeded in breaking the previous record for the Minecraft speedrun, finishing the run in 20 minutes and 38 seconds after two years of trying. Former StarCraft 2 professional Forsen has held the previous record for the fastest run since April 2021, finishing the game in 20 minutes and 38 seconds.

The long-running rivalry between xQc and Forsen has a new winner

Since 2020, xQc and Forsen, two Twitch streamers, have been involved in a rivalry to see who can finish the fastest speedrun in Minecraft. The two have been switching places as they make consistent efforts to finish a run from the first spawn to Ender Dragon faster than the other. In April 2021, their competition marked a turning point after Forsen’s new record time of 20 minutes and 38 seconds edged out xQc’s old record by only seven seconds. Despite the fact that xQc made numerous efforts to beat the speedrun record in the previous two years, Forsen has consistently held the upper hand ever since.

According to Streams Charts, xQc has spent about 86 hours trying to set a new Minecraft speed run record on Twitch in the past month. A few days back, the 27-year-old appeared beating his desk in frustration after failing to beat the record despite numerous attempts. After a brief stressful outburst, xQc decided that one of his new year’s resolutions would be to beat Forsen’s speedrun time. The Canadian streamer finally claimed the crown with a run more than a minute quicker than his Swedish rival, putting an end to his two-year reign at the top.

Given that a streamer like xQc had to wait two years to break 20 minutes 38 seconds, it is safe to predict that Forsen or any other player won’t find it easy breaking xQc’s new record. After breaking Forsen’s record, xQc sent a tweet to his old foe, informing him about the new record and calling him a noob. Although Forsen hasn’t yet commented on xQc’s post or addressed the news of the new record, it’s likely that he will return to Minecraft soon to reclaim the top spot.
