After a series of controversial events around Natus Vincere’s Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhaylov, the team has been left without a captain. The timing wasn’t perfect either — the war in Ukraine, the club’s home country, has undoubtedly affected players and management, and their performance in tournaments.

While the community was buzzing about ElectroNic’s possible fate in the organization and discussing the Boombl4’s ex-wife allegations, the team searched for a stand-in to perform at BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022. NAVI’s choice fell on Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev from Ukraine, who previously played with MAD Lions. While the time will show if this decision is temporary or sdy will be a fully-fledged part of the squad, this is a great chance for him to show his skills and represent his motherland.

The new lineup already shows great results — Natus Vincere became the champions of BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022. The team revenged their loss in the Grand Final of PGL Major Antwerp and later also defeated Team Vitality to claim the Spring Finals.

Sdy’s impressions of playing with NAVI

NAVI’s achievement at the Spring Final was a bit of a surprise, as teams usually need some time to find the rhythm with a new member in the squad. However, and despite the fact that sdy is ranked lower than his temporary teammates, his level of play didn’t stay behind. In an interview for HLTV, sdy shared that he enjoyed playing with the team and that playing with Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev was a “hell of an experience”.

S1mple’s opinion

According to his own words, s1mple is pleased to perform together with sdy. S1mple said on the deck with HLTV.org after NAVI’s victory in Spring Finals that he hopes sdy will play with NAVI in IEM Cologne 2022, as he made a great impact on the team’s games with his multi-kills. Moreover, s1mple noted that sdy knows how to listen to the team’s advice and is happy to learn new things. Based on that, it seems that sdy is a great fit for the team.

Natus Vincere’s next performance will happen at IEM Cologne 2022 which starts on July 5. The team hasn’t yet revealed whether sdy will remain their stand-in or if they will try to play with someone new.
