In announcing a new event called Veiled Collection, the developers of Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment, may have made a big mistake by revealing a new character. Last April 20, with the event’s announcement, the official banner showed a character that, without a doubt, is completely unknown to everyone.

After this, many rumors jumped out that this character in question would soon join the list of legends of the game. In addition, the rumor that a legend named Ballistic will arrive in the game in season 17 has been running for several days on social networks.

Respawn revealed new character accidentally

In the official release of the Apex Legends event, Veiled Collection, Respawn let a legend nobody knew about in the banner. However, shortly after, the developers removed the image, thus giving much more rope to the rumors about the new character that would arrive in season 17 of the game.

As it has been known through different leaks, everything points to the fact that the design of the image we have just shown is that of Ballistic. In all the leaks, the character was described in detail and fitted perfectly with the image published by Respawn.

The Apex community has been waiting for many months for the release of this legend to the game. The first leaks of it have been rolling since season 13, i.e., a year ago. In those leaks, reference was made to Catalyst, Newcastle, Vantage, and Ballistic (formerly called Caliber). So naturally, then, each of these characters was included in the game except for Ballistic, so it was only a matter of time before he made it to the character roster.

Veiled Collection – Details

With Season 16 in its final days, Respawn has decided to celebrate a new event in Apex Legends called Veiled Collection. This event will be available starting next April 25 and will run for two weeks, specifically until May 9. Let’s remember that this is the estimated date of the launch of season 17.

At this event, the developers announced a new skin pack and the introduction of the TDM Unshielded Deadeye mode, which is the normal Team Deathmatch mode, but much more hardcore.

Like many Apex events, all skins will be available in the in-game store and will be redeemable only with Apex Coins or Crafting Metals that players have. Undoubtedly, the looks of the legends offered in this event are spectacular, and we haven’t seen this kind of skins in the game for a long time.

As usual, after players unlock the 24 skins of the event, they can acquire the new mythical item, which, this time, is a skin called Apex Contagion.

Finally, the new TDM Unshielded Deadeye mode aims to turn what was known as an “arcade test” into a “skill test.”. According to Respawn, this game mode will reveal players’ true skills on the battlefield. Also, this limited-time mode will have no shields or helmets, so everything will be much more aggressive and dangerous.

Those who do not want to spend money on this event can also continue from the free part, as is always the case. However, the rewards are not as appealing as the ones mentioned above.

The community is furious about skins-centric events

As expected, the community is unhappy with the difference in rewards between players who invest money and those who don’t.

Through a thread on Reddit, one user shared his thoughts and said he was completely fed up with all the Apex Collection events. Furthermore, the user alleges Respawn focuses on paid skins and calls for sabotaging the event.

Many more community members joined in and pointed out that they would not spend a penny on this Apex Legends event.

No doubt being a F2P game, developers must do skins-centric events to generate additional revenue. In addition, it is very common for these types of events to include brand-new skins and other high-level ones.

In recent months, Respawn has increased the number of events in Apex, and many players are frustrated because they don’t want to spend their money to get the rewards.
