Because the first season of Fragster CS:GO League was a great success, we are happy to announce another edition of the series! The Fragster CS:GO League Season 2 starts in August and this time around, the competition will feature more money, with the 2nd division boasting its own prize pool. In addition, the Fragster CS:GO Academy League adds a special division for U21 players.

Registration for the Division 2 qualifiers is open, but first, let’s get into the details of the league itself. The first Division now gets a bonus for the teams that completed all matches, while the second Division gets €1000 in prize money, just like the Fragster CS:GO Academy League.

Qualification and start of the league

Teams interested in participating in Division 2 can register [HERE] starting today.

  • two open qualifiers
  • two teams qualify for the closed qualification
  • 09/07/2022 1st open qualifier
  • 07/12/2022 2nd open qualifier
  • closed qualifier
  • four invited teams in closed qualification
  • 23/07 – 24/07/2022 closed qualification
  • double elimination bracket
  • two teams qualify for the 2nd division
  • 08/01/2022 League start

The reason why we want to accommodate the teams of the 2nd league with the prize money is that they already put a lot of time into the game. Even if they ascend, they will not directly earn a living from it. In addition, most players at this level are still unpaid and can use the prize money to legitimize their time-consuming hobby.

In order to keep the 1st league attractive, we are increasing the prize pool by €2,000 to a total of €12,000. By expanding the prize money, we have the opportunity to reward the teams for the games they have played. It’s not about winning or losing, it’s about the thrill of the competition.

Slots for international top event

Through our partnership with the global 3.3 million dollar tournament Champion of Champions Tour, we are creating another opportunity for German teams to earn their spurs. The CCT will start after the player break and kick off in Europe next year. This means that in our 3rd season, there will be available slots for participation in one of the prestigious European tournaments as part of the Champion of Champions Tour.

Support at all levels

Through these systems, we are able to support the development of teams at all levels. This starts with the Fragster CS:GO Academy League and continues with the slots for the CCT to the improved prize money. We reward performance, but also the reliability of the organizations. Furthermore, we offer the U21 players in Germany a unique safe zone to gain experience and play their way up. At the same time, our tournaments are accessible to all teams and easy to reach thanks to the open qualifiers.

We are hopeful that our efforts will have positive effects on the community and help to strengthen the DACH esports scene!
