Apex Legends End of the Year Sale

Respawn Entertainment has decided to end the year out with a bang by implementing the End Of the Year sale for Apex Legends. The sale started on 27th December and will end on 10th January 2023. The sale will not be available in some regions and players can check whether they are eligible for the sale in the in-game store.

The new legendary recolor skins for Wattson and Loba known as “Kawaii Kitty” and “Hell Bent” are exclusive only for the End of Year sale as announced on Apex Legends official website. Along with the recolor skins, Wraith’s legendary “Rift Stalker” skin has also returned.

Skins & prices

The cheapest cosmetic that the sale offers is a 20-Pack bundle, which is available for 2500 Apex coins.  It will take around $15 for a player to participate in the End Of Year sale, however, players will have to be willing to spend upwards of $40 if they wish to get the new skins featured in the sale.

Loba’s Hell Bent Bundle is available for 4800 Apex Coins, and Watson’s Kawaii Kitty bundle shares the same price as well. Both bundles feature a similar colour pattern with a mix of pure violet and indigo and bit of teal on the sleeves topping off with a stellar design. Wraith’s Rift Stalker skin, which makes the character looks like an Assasin’s Creed character, has returned for 3950 Apex coins with the Sanguine Pack Bundle.

In Apex, you can buy in-game currencies in the form of bundles, with 1000 Apex Coins available for $9.99.

Disappointed community

Even though the community made expectations for the recolored version of Watson “ Thunder Kitty” due to it being a popular character in game, they were disappointed to see that among the three skins included in the sale, two were recolored iterations.

apex dissapointment

The community has displayed their general dislike of “store” events featuring recolors since a number of holiday events —which are usually events that have themes for certain festivities — feature older skins with different iterations of paint which makes them seem like new skins. The recent Fright celebration, Halloween’s Fight, and Wintertide events are among them.

Besides skins, holiday events usually introduce new game modes and new challenges which unlock prizes for the players. However, the Wintertide event has taken a turn that the developers didn’t expect. Due to the buggy gameplay surrounding the event and the return of recolored skins, fans are left disappointed and unimpressed with the game offers.
