As we already know, the VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023 will kick off today, February 13. For more than 20 days, we will have the 30 franchised teams and two Chinese guests fighting in the first tournament of the VALORANT Champions Tour franchise era.
Last Sunday, February 12, in the wee hours of the morning, the official VCT account published the list of streamers selected by Riot Games for the very fashionable “Watch Parties” of the tournament to be played in Brazil. However, many very popular and recognized content creators in the community have been furious about being left out of this list.
Riot left out many important names
The VALORANT Champions Tour published all the streamers that will be allowed to stream or “Watch Party” the tournament in Brazil through a publication on the official Twitter account. However, many popular content creators in the community have been left out of the list.

The extensive list shown by Riot Games comprises professional players, some important personalities within the community, and a few popular content creators.
We all know that the slots for broadcasting official esports matches are generally very few. However, below, we will have the names of great personalities and content creators who have been left out of this list, and we certainly can’t explain why.
Streamers and fans are enraged by this list
VALORANT is today, one of the most important esports in the world. There are professional and amateur teams in every region of the world who dream of being on the big stages of tournaments of the highest competitive level. In other words, everyone dreams of having one of the coveted VCT slots in their franchise system.
There are many content creators; the vast majority are former professional players who broadcast their competitive VALORANT games daily. Now, they dreamed of officially broadcasting the VCT LOCK//IN Sao Paulo 2023 with their fans. However, as we mentioned before, the places granted to do co-streaming or “Watch Parties” are very scarce, so the selection may or may not please everyone.
Content creators left out
After the publication of the list, we have that some important streamers were left out, such as:
- Jonas “AverageJonas” Navarsete
- Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik
- Spencer “Hiko” Martin
- Sean “sgares” Gares
These and many more content creators who were left off the list were actively protesting on the VCT Tweet.
two words: Average. Jonas.

On the other hand, Hiko was also included in the responses with a message that says little but represents a lot.

There is no doubt that we are all shocked to see such well-known personalities off the list. Each of them has been a fundamental part of the history of esports; now, they are not considered for the first tournament of the new VCT era.
However, after all this commotion on Twitter, Leo Faria, Global Director of Esports at Riot Games, said:
“We’re inviting more creators to co-stream LOCK//IN. While we want diversity and variety of languages. We don’t want to stop folks who are committed to our sport from creating content and being part of this moment with us. Thanks for your feedback. I hope you have a ton of fun!”
