Skins in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) are a very lucrative way to earn money. They are digital objects that can be purchased or exchanged for real money and are used to customize the appearance of weapons and player character models.
Because of this, many cheating users try to make their own to steal skins from different accounts or pages to earn rewards in real currency.
CS:GO Skins
CS:GO skins are available in many colors, designs, and styles and can range in rarity and price from a few cents to thousands of dollars. Skins can be obtained through drops from the game itself, by playing in tournaments, or through the Steam marketplace.
They can also be bought and sold through third-party sites. With the right strategy and skins, it is possible to make a lot of money trading and selling skins, making CS:GO skins a great way to make money.
Skin stealing has become very popular
Skins theft in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is more active than ever. While it is difficult for thieves to get it very often, over the past few months, there have been confirmed thefts from Steam accounts and external sites.
Now, one of these external sites has recently been the victim of a theft, CSGOExo. This is a CS:GO skin trading site, which has confirmed that it was hacked in the early hours of February 15. This hack has caused the thieves to get their hands on skins valued at $700,000.
Much of this money went to CSGOEmpire, another popular CS:GO skin trading and selling site. However, this site has nothing to do with the theft, which may tarnish its image a bit.
Any player who tries to access the CSGOExo page will be met with a somewhat creepy homepage. On this page, the company confirms that it has suffered a hack for over $700,000 worth of skins and also publishes the three Steam profiles that were allegedly the culprits of this theft. So now, everything will be in the hands of justice in their respective countries.
Part of the money ended up in CSGOEmpire
According to the information officially published by the company CSGOEmpire:
353,174.53 coins / $216,859.75 were deposited on Empire across 3 accounts.”
So naturally, this caught the company’s attention, and they were notified immediately.
1/ As many people are aware, CSGOExo recently announced that they were hacked and $700,000 in skins stolen from them.

All indications are that the thieves attempted to use CSGOEmpire as a money laundering mechanism for the grand theft committed on CSGOExo. This undoubtedly affects many users who purchased these skins and were subsequently deleted. However, CSGOEmpire hopes to resolve the situation as soon as possible.
5/ Given the scale of what's happened, please give our team time to handle this. We aim to have this handled within the next 48 hours, but it could take longer.
When we have more updates to share, we'll let customers know directly and on Twitter.

This is not all
However, this is not all. According to information published on different blogs, many skins have been stolen with the help of Steam staff. For example, the popular Russian YouTuber Mzkshow claims that the computer thief “Alexander” received help from these people to commit the theft of skins.
