Dota 2 is about to change radically and nobody can anticipate who the strongest teams will be at The International 12 or in its regional qualifiers.

That’s because the most famous heroes of Dota 2 patch 7.33 are nowhere to be found. In their place, new heroes have risen and the community is enjoying them a lot.

New superstars

A quick look at Dota 2 patch 7.34 statistics on Dotabuff reveals that Sand King now has a win rate of 58.5%. He is followed by Riki (57.7%), and completely unsurprisingly, Witch Doctor (56.7%).

Everyone knew that WD was going to become one of the strongest heroes in this patch, simply because his buffs were too good. The pure damage of the ultimate is ridiculous and the Paralyzing Cask is now extremely hard to dodge. If it catches two heroes next to each other, both of them are screwed.

Another hero who came back from the dead is Invoker. His abilities and orbs received huge buffs, turning him into a terrifying spellcaster. It’s been a long time since we last saw this hero getting heavily picked by teams and he’s definitely going to be the focal point of many drafts in professional matches.

At the community level, Invoker now has a 19.4% pick rate and a 52% win rate. These stats clearly prove that everyone in Dota 2 was longing to see Invoker return to the meta.

Another great hero to pick is Phantom Assassin. Around 23% of the community matches feature her these days and it’s not hard to grasp why. The hero’s win rate is 51.7% but in the right hands, the figure is probably above 55%. The only thing that was changed about PA is how her ultimate works. But the change is substantial.

Wraith King now has a win rate of around 56% and a pick rate of more than 10%. This previously dead hero is strong again because of the viable item builds that exist at the moment for him. He also got buffed a little, which is a bonus.

Necrophos, Night Stalker, and Slardar are beloved again. Dawnbreaker and Chaos Knight are also doing well at the moment, having win rates of more than 53%.

Strangely, Enchantress, who was highly contested in all tournaments this season, now has a win rate of 42.7%. She’s the worst possible pick according to the statistics.
