OG Yuragi and Team Spirit Yatoro discuss Koma’s suspension

Following the startling Dota 2 ban wave, in which Valve permanently banned 10 players, including the former Virtuspro Carry Kamil “Koma” Biktimirov, many popular Dota 2 players have come out in support of the banned player.

The Eastern European Dota 2 scene has been shaken after ten players received permanent bans from Valve following an account-sharing incident. Former Virtus.pro carry Koma was the most notable name among the banned players. Following his suspension, Koma issued a public statement in which he publicly apologized and took ownership of his action.

The 20-year-old revealed that he listened to the persuasions of other people and requested Valve to shorten his suspension. While Valve hasn’t yet made a follow-up comment on the situation, popular Dota 2 players from Team Spirit and OG supported Koma, claiming that he doesn’t deserve a permanent banned.

Yuragib and Yatoro believe Koma doesn’t deserve a lifetime ban 

According to Team Spirit’s carry player Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk, Koma has been playing with him for the past three years and has put in so much effort in the game. According to him, all banned players deserved their punishments, except Koma, who should have been punished more leniently.

Since Koma put so much work into the game, Yatoro argued that he would never take part in any activities intentionally that would result in a ban. Yatoro acknowledged that Koma’ did use two accounts to play, but he felt that a year’s suspension is a suitable punishment for the violation and that a lifetime ban seemed unnecessary.

Artem “Yuragi” Golubiev, the carry player for OG, was the most recent in a line to comment on Valve’s wave of bans. Yuragi voiced his concerns about Koma’s indefinite suspension on his Twitter account, claiming that his friend and former teammate, Koma, would never take part in such actions because of his unwavering dedication to Dota 2.

While Yuragi and Yatoro were merely expressing their concerns for their Dota friend, many fans seemed disappointed by their comments. Many Dota 2 fans asserted that because Koma is a friend and ex-teammate, Yuragi and Yatoro want him to be treated differently from other banned players.

Valve’s policies and punishments, however, are very explicit when it comes to maintaining the integrity of the competitive environment. It’s unlikely that Koma would be released from his permanent suspension given Valve’s track record and its response to such incidents. Alexandr “krylat” Krylatov, a former carry player for Team Empire Hope, has already taken Koma’s spot at Virtus.pro and it appears that Koma’s professional career is officially on the deathbed now.
