Moreover, Skyesports assures that this will be an ideal opportunity for Indian CS:GO players and teams to shine on the scene.

The Indian esports scene has faced several hurdles

While it is true that India has one of the largest populations in the world and, consequently, an extremely large gamer base, it has been an absolute challenge to ensure an esports ecosystem that is stable and profitable. However, Skyesports wants to challenge all that by implementing this franchise league, which has undoubtedly succeeded globally in esports.

On the other hand, they have also detailed how they will monetize this new franchise league. According to Skyesports, everything will revolve around sponsors, press rights, and the sale of team merchandise.

Recently, esports events hosted in India have signed broadcast deals with OTT and some TV channels. Undoubtedly, the greater the reach, the greater the popularity and the more players, teams, and tournament organizers will gain.

Skyesports Masters Qualifiers

As mentioned, Skyesports announced its partnership with eight “fantastic partners” who will organize local qualifiers in different cities in India. The selected cities are:

  • Chennai
  • Delhi
  • Bangalore
  • Hyderabad
  • Pune
  • Mumbai
  • Ahmedabad
  • Among others

Once these qualifiers are concluded, the franchised teams can select the best-performing players during the tournament and thus sign them for their line-ups. In addition, it is also detailed that teams can rely on professional players from India and abroad.

Finally, the Skyesports Masters playoffs will be played in Mumbai live in front of a live audience.

Undoubtedly, this is a big step not only for the Indian esports scene but for the global scene. There is no doubt that this region has an extremely large esports player base, and this initiative could unveil talent that shines at the highest competitive level.
