Call of Duty League team Los Angeles Guerrillas has made a move in its starting lineup ahead of the 2023 season, parting ways with former world champion Huke and signing Exceed, Assault, and JoeDeceives.

Official announcement via Twitter

The Guerrillas announced Huke’s departure from their starting lineup through a statement on their official Twitter account. In it, they highlighted that the separation was by mutual agreement and that the organization wished him well in the future.

In addition, the organization added that:

“Throughout the last two seasons, Cuyler’s impact was always felt on and off the sticks. We’re forever grateful for his contributions to our organization and the history he created with us.”

After this, Huke, also through his official Twitter account, announced that he was a free agent for the rest of the season and that he was open to joining a new team.

New line-up

After the first Major played in 2022, during the vacations, there were rumors that several teams that failed to achieve their goals would make a clean slate in their lineups.

Initially, the rumors did not place former world champion Huke out of the Guerrillas’ lineup, let alone talk of him leaving for another team.

The information centered on Arcitys, who seemed destined to leave the team and join OpTic Texas, but these rumors died. Instead, L.A. Guerrillas is reportedly looking to build the team around his excellent skills.

Jacob Hale, an esports journalist, noted that Los Guerrillas would promote three players from their academy to the primary team. Recall that the LAG Academy was eliminated from the last Major in the Group Stage, as was the main squad.

A few minutes later, the organization announced on its Twitter account the addition to the main lineup of Adam “Assault” Garcia, Kaden “Exceed” Stockdale, and JoeDeceives,  confirming the information previously provided by Hale.

The future of Neptune and Spart is uncertain. They could either go to the team’s academy or leave the organization.

About Huke

In addition to being one of the best players in the history of Call of Duty, Cuyler “Huke” Garland, only 23 years old, has achieved many vital triumphs throughout his career.

His beginnings were in none other than FaZe Clan in 2015. And we all know the magnitude of this great team in esports scene.

In 2017, he signed with Team Envy, a team with which he lasted two years.

In 2019, he jumped to Dallas Empire from the DLC. He also lasted two years on this team. But it was with them that he raised the world champion trophy in the CDL Championship 2020, where they beat Atlanta FaZe in the final with a 5-1.

In 2021 he headed to California, signing for Los Angeles Thieves. This season was one to forget for Huke, as he was benched up to three times.

Finally, in 2022 he joined Los Angeles Guerrillas, where his best achievement was first place in the Call of Duty League 2022: Stage 2 Major.
