XSET has made another move to support inclusivity and social good in gaming, and this time it’s a big one! Today, the organization has announced the acquisition of the women-led gaming and lifestyle company Queens Gaming Collective.

According to the official release, the acquisition is the next step in XSET’s efforts in becoming “a global leader in bridging gaps for overlooked communities in gaming”. Furthermore, this is said to bring the needed infrastructure, resources, and representation for more women in the industry.

XSET to connect and promote women on a global scale

With this acquisition, XSET’s portfolio of 44 talent will now be joined by the whole Queens Gaming Collective consisting of over 15 content creators, streamers, musicians, competitors, and professional athletes. This includes names like HelloIamKate, Demisux, Blackkrystal, Sparkles QT, Avagg, Cray, Erica Nagashima, and more.

XSET will reportedly expand the company’s support of women in the industry through a range of services including talent management, brand partnerships, merchandising, IP development, and licensing.

Erin Ashley Simon to advocate for the Queens

As a result of the deal, XSET’s Chief Culture Officer, Erin Ashley Simon will become the Collective’s major advocate and will work together with the company as a voice for women gamers not only in the organization but also outside.

Erin Ashley Simon spoke on the announcement:

“Being a woman in a male-dominated industry like gaming isn’t easy – there are many challenges that come with it. That’s why I’m looking forward to working with this amazing group of women who want to challenge the status quo, think outside of the box, and have fun along the way.”

Greg Selkoe, XSET Co-Founder and CEO, also commented:

“As XSET grows to become a global gaming lifestyle brand, it’s important that we work alongside those who share our vision of ensuring diversity and inclusion in gaming. Queens Gaming Collective has worked to level the playing field for women in gaming for years, and XSET’s goal is to also do just that. We’re excited to bring them into XSET to work together in filling this missing piece of the gaming industry.”

Who is Queens Gaming Collective?

Founded by Justin J. Giangrande in November 2020, Queens Gaming Collective is a media and lifestyle company that brands itself as “The Cultural Bridge for Women in Gaming”, while providing its global roster of women creators, streamers, and competitors with resources, infrastructure, and representation.

Giangrande will too transition to XSET to serve as Head of Talent, Partner to make sure the acquisition will transpire seamlessly. He commented:

“Queens started as an idea, and grew into a movement led by our powerful and purposeful women that are a part of it. It is special to see Queens take the next step and become part of a bigger ecosystem of the XSET family, which will provide them with more support and resources to make space for diversity and inclusiveness in gaming. I am thankful and honored to be a part of this journey.”
