The best CS:GO players of 2022 – Spinx

In 2022, Team Vitality decided to try something new. The goals were ambitions and reaching them required highly skilled players. So the organization changed four of its roster members, including the coach.

This started a new era for Vitality and in October last year, we started to see the first important results. The team won ESL Pro League Season 16 and looked capable of dominating CS:GO in 2023.

Lotan “Spinx” Giladi joined only in August, but his impact was felt almost immediately.

Who is Spinx

Spinx is a 22-year-old who started playing CS:GO at the age of 12. He practically picked up the game as soon as it was launched. And after many years of dedicated effort, he finally started playing professionally in 2019. His first teams were small, but then he began to get noticed by the big clubs.

The first important team that signed him was c0ntact Gaming. However, he only stayed there for several months and then he moved to ENCE, a much more prestigious esports organization. That’s where he made a name for himself.

Spinx played for ENCE for one and a half years, finishing second in ESL Pro League Season 15 and third-fourth at PGL Major Antwerp.

Because of these performances, he started to be regarded as a world-class lurker and received an offer from Team Vitality, who were struggling to find someone capable of replacing one of their former players in this role.

Arguably, at the time of the transfer, ENCE were doing quite well in CS:GO and Spinx probably didn’t have a real reason to leave the club. But he was incentivized by the fact that Vitality had Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, one of the two best players of the past several years.

Spinx is the not kind of player who stands out. His stats are completely average. But his impact on his team’s success is still huge. Because of the nature of his role, he cannot do what ZywOo does and he will often be sacrificed for the greater good of the team.

Every so often, he will get a quad kill or an impressive clutch. But most of the time, he’s just expected to play the lurker role to perfection and be as annoying as possible for the enemy team.

Considering his age, Spinx still has 8-10 years more to play CS:GO at the highest level. And he’ll likely continue to be as successful as he hasn’t been these past few years. For 2022, he was recently named by hltv as one of the best 20 CS:GO players in the world.
