Will Zombie mode return in Modern Warfare 2?

This past week before the release of COD: Modern Warfare 2, leakers and data miners stumbled upon a gold mine when they found in-game files that might have indicated that footballers could make their way into the game to promote the FIFA World Cup.

Well, it seems that the leakers and data miners have struck once again. This time they have found data hinting that zombie mode may once again make its way back into the game.

Zombie mode in MF2?

Even though it is believed that it might take some time for the mode to make its way into the latest release of the COD Franchise, a data miner who goes by the name of Codsploitzimgz uncovered an image implying that at some point in the future, the developers plan on putting the classic zombie mode back into the game. The image quickly gained attention on Reddit, with some users pointing out the exciting combination of zombies and modern weapons. However, the images have been since deleted from Twitter.

Zombie mode in Call of Duty franchise

Zombie mode was first introduced to the Call Of Duty franchise way back in 2008 with the release of Call Of Duty: World At War. Back then, it was speculated that it wouldn’t be made as a staple in game mode, however, this has been proven wrong with its jaw-dropping success, as the game mode has been available in nearly every CoD game that has been put out over the last eight years since then. The only exception to this is the 2019 release, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare. It is known that the mode can only be found in the Call Of Duty titles that were made together with Treyarch.

Modern Warfare replaces this mode with a co-op survival mode called Spec Ops. Even though it did a terrific job in satisfying the community, some still yearn for the return of the zombie mode. Reacting to the recent leaks, the community is rejoicing to see the mode’s potential return in Modern Warfare 2, as the zombie mode could be the icing on top since the game includes modes like Warzone 2.0 and the return of Spec Ops.

Zombie mode may or may not come to be part of the game when it releases and at the moment, further details to the news are limited and Activision has not officially commented on the speculations. Fans can only hope to learn more about this in the coming days.
