After the unexpected news of Seth “Scump” Abner’s retirement from the competitive Call of Duty scene, the best esports player in history, OpTic Texas has decided to bring back Brandon “Dashy” Otell.
Scump’s retirement
If you are a fan of esports, especially Call of Duty, you surely know Seth “Scump” Abner. Undoubtedly, he is a legend of e-sports and Activision’s shooter. Moreover, he is considered the best player in the game’s history.
A few days ago, the OpTic legend announced that he is retiring from the CoD competitive scene immediately. Remember that the new CoD season is already being played and is halfway through. Scump had already announced some time ago that this would be his last year as a pro, but he has decided to step aside now that they have found his replacement, Brandon “Dashy” Otell.

In the emotional farewell video, Scump said:
“With Brandon coming back I hope people are happy with the new staff. Bringing him back made sense, life is too short to hold grudges or be angry. I hope he takes the opportunity to be a good teammate. I’m leaving, so Dashy will be able to move up.”
There is no doubt that Scump is the best Call of Duty player in history. The player won many tournaments in his lengthy career, mostly alongside OpTic, “The Green Wall.” To give you an idea, Scump has won $1,186,505 in prize money from CoD tournaments other than esports with a hefty prize pool.
Dashy returns to OpTic
On the other hand, a few days ago, OpTic decided to bench Dashy to give his place to the team’s new signing, Cuyler “Huke” Garland. But, with this news of Scump’s retirement, Dashy will now be the team’s starter.

The squad that now makes up the starting lineup for OpTic Texas consists of three players who won the Modern Warfare CDL Championship on Dallas Empire. In addition, these are mixed in with one of the most talented rifler players in the game today.
Dashy did not take the fact that he was benched by OpTic Texas in the best way, as the player criticized the team’s coaching, among other things. But, after learning of Scump’s departure, Dashy took the time to thank the CoD legend via his Twitter account.
Today is hitting a little different… One of my favourite people/teammates I’ve ever had the pleasure to be around. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me over all these years, I just hope to make you proud from the outside my brother @scump ❤️ #TheGOAT #SoTippable

So, the OpTic Texas lineup is as follows:
- Brandon “Dashy” Otell
- Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro
- Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal
- Cuyler “Huke” Garland
