The second day of week 4 in the VCT Americas league has concluded. 100 Thieves secured the win over KRÜ Esports and climbed up in the points table. However, KRÜ is at the bottom. Furthermore, Brazil’s FURIA shined against Evil Geniuses and secured the third spot in the league table.

Let’s recap the 2nd day of VCT Americas League Week 4:

100 Thieves’ insane comeback against KRÜ Esports

100 Thieves deliver an important win to boost their confidence in the ongoing league. On the other hand, KRU Esports are still struggling to find their first win in the league. Not to mention, they started pretty well but failed to mount continuous pressure on 100T and lost by 1-2.

Ascent

In the first match between KRU and 100 Thieves, the first map was Ascent, which was KRU’s pick. KRU dominated the first half with a score of 9-3, and they continued to assert their dominance in the later half, securing the map with a comfortable 13-4 score. Marco Eliot “Melser” Machuca Amaro was the MVP with 21 frags.

Split

Moving on to the second map, Split, KRU once again showed their dominance in the first half with an 8-4 score. However, 100 Thieves staged an incredible comeback in the later half, managing to secure the map with a 13-11 score. Peter “Asuna” Mazury was the star player of the match with an impressive 29 kills on Raze.

Fracture

For the deciding third map, Fracture, it looked like the impressive comeback in the previous map had boosted 100 Thieves’ confidence. The first half finished with 100 Thieves in the lead with 8 rounds. They didn’t take a light approach and continued their aggression to finally secure the map with a 13-5 score. This time, Matthew “CryoCells” Panganiban pulled it off for 100 Thieves. It was a great match with a lot of action, and 100 Thieves emerged as the victors.

FURIA shines on the last match of day 2

Despite Evil Geniuses’ confidence from winning in their last match and FURIA’s loss against LOUD, FURIA managed to secure a 2-1 victory over EG. It was a closely contested match, with FURIA showing incredible resilience and skill to come out on top.

Ascent

The second match of the day started with Ascent. FURIA took the lead in the first half with a score of 7-5. The second half saw both teams go head-to-head, with the match eventually going into overtime. In the end, FURIA emerged victorious with a final score of 15-13. Leonardo “mwzera” Serrati and Matheus “Mazin” Araújo from FURIA each delivered an impressive 26 kills.

Fracture

Moving on to the second map, Fracture, which was EVIL GENIUSES’ map pick, the team showed great resilience after a tough loss in the first map. The first half ended at 8-4 in EG’s favor, and they continued to carry forward their momentum into the second half. In the end, EG emerged victorious with a final score of 13-7. This time, Ethan “Ethan” Arnold and Alexander “jawgemo” Mor shone as the MVPs for EG, delivering an impressive 21 kills each. It was a great comeback for EG, and they proved their skills.

Haven

Moving into the deciding third map, both teams were determined to come out on top. The first half ended with a decent 7-5 score in favor of EVIL GENIUSES. However, the tables turned in the second half with an insane comeback from FURIA. FURIA started with back-to-back 5 rounds in their pockets, and despite some resilience from EG, it was FURIA who secured the map with a close 13-10 score. Leonardo “mwzera” Serrati showed his beastly form with an incredible 30 frags, leading his team to victory.

On the third day of VCT Americas league week 4, NRG Esports will be against Cloud9 and MIBR will be up against Sentinels on April, 24.
