MW2: Neymar and Messi coming to game as Operators?

As the release of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is approaching rapidly, leaks and rumors are circulating online with high intensity. Leakers are having a blast releasing information about the unannounced content regarding the game and the trend could continue even after the game’s release.

A reliable source for Call of Duty leaks and rumors who goes by the name TheGhostOfHope is back with another set of leaks, teasing unreleased content. This time, they shared a Twitter post that seems to reveal the list of players for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, which includes the names of some of the biggest football stars such as Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The leak includes the following names: Messi, Neymar, Pogba, Aksel, Connor, Klaus, Reyes, and, Roze.

In-game files indicate the same

Some gamers and enthusiasts that are fans of the franchise have also confirmed that the leaks were legitimate. The footballer names are supposedly already listed in the Modern Warfare 2 files. In-game files are usually one of the first ways to determine whether the rumors and leaks are legitimate, however, the file names do not guarantee that these footballers will be joining Modern Warfare 2.

They could, however, be part of a FIFA World Cup event in 2023. Such collaborations have not yet been confirmed by Activision, but it’s assumed we’ll learn more about them in the future, similar to how Godzilla and Kong made their way to Warzone earlier this year. It is believed that Activision and its developers will continue on with this particular trend moving forward.

The leaks also include two more notable names: Roze and Reyes. Roze is the notorious CoD skin that brought havoc in Warzone because of her pitch-black outfit, allowing her to blend into the shadows around the map. Reyes could be a new operator, however, since it also shares the name with the main protagonist from Infinite Warfare, fans are hoping it’s the same character.

CoD – FIFA collab?

Hope and others were quick to point out that the world-renowned footballers could be collaborating together with CoD to help promote the upcoming FIFA World Cup event, which begins at the end of November, just days after the release of Warzone 2.0 on November 16.

Activision has been trying to expand its partnerships with world-renowned celebrities outside of The United States to help with the massive marketing plans of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. It’s unclear what role footballers could have in the Call of Duty franchise, but the franchise has already shown that it could get a football-based event in the near future featuring the mentioned footballers.

Activation has however yet to confirm nor deny anything related to the leaks. However, since the leaks come from Hope, there is a reason for football fans to get hyped about the potential of the game.
