Activision has slowly rolled out the release of its highly-anticipated Battle Royale title Warzone Mobile in several countries a day before its expected release date of March 21st.

In the Philippines, for example, several mobile gamers have already reported release drops as early as 2200 GMT+8 of March 20th.

Leakers on WZM, a prominent first-dibs report website, also confirmed that Japan, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the entire Middle East also have early access. Hideo Hikida, the production lead for Warzone Mobile, confirmed it shortly after.

By 1am ET, the USA and Canada app stores have already been launched as well.

However, this does not come without reports of complaints from users. Some report low graphics at start, as well as disconnection and server lag, especially in the Quads Battle Royale modes. Others have also reported heating issues even on high end devices, and too much storage use.

In response, Actvision said in a brief statement: “for players where Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is already available, you may experience some delays with matchmaking and connectivity as our servers come online. Hang tight, we’re still rolling out globally and this will be resolved soon.”

Hikida also addressed concerns about lower-quality graphics at start, saying, “for those downloading and playing for the first time – it takes a bit to download all the assets. I would expect graphical fidelity to improve over the course of 2-4 games as you stream in and download more stuff to make the game clearer (which of course = device heat),” he says.

Hikida also said that a “bunch of countries” will still be rolled out, and changes are already being addressed, such as buy station and vehicle spawns, as well as fixed combat records have already been displayed.

Pre-registration rewards have also been made available for those who pre-registered for the game, including a free skin for Simon “Ghost” Riley and two weapon blueprints.

At the moment, Battle Royale and Multiplayer modes are present, with Mosh Pit (a mix of various Call of Duty multiplayer modes), as well as Shoot the Ship (focusing on the popular map Shipment) are available for MP.

20-minute Quads, 10-minute trios, and 10-minute duos, as well as Rebirth Island Resurgence Quads are also available at launch.

The said title features several key maps that are well-loved by Call of Duty users, such as the classic Verdansk map from the original Warzone and Rebirth Island.

Android devices with an Adreno 618 GPU or better, as well as  iOS devices running iOS 16.0 or later with 3GB of RAM (except iPhone 8) are the minimum specifications.

Controller and tablet support is also enabled for Warzone Mobile.
