Spirit have announced that they have signed Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov. The player comes from Cloud9 and has confirmed the current rumors with the transfer. sh1ro will take the place of Artem “ArtFr0st” Kharitonov.

Apparently, Team Spirit had been planning to bring sh1ro in for a very long time, even before winning the BetBoom Dacha 2023.

sh1ro replaces ArtFr0st

sh1ro will replace ArtFr0st at Team Spirit. He actually had a good time at Spirit, which is why the change is a little surprising. Among other things, he helped the team to win the PARI Dunav Party title.

ArtFr0st was a top player and was often responsible for his team winning the trophy. His ratings were consistently good and at the BetBoom Dacha, the 22-year-old Russian was even the second-best player.

ArtFr0st was previously part of Team Spirit’s Academy lineup and received a rating of 1.18 for his time in the Hauppteam. Only his colleague Danil “donk” Kryshkovets has received a better rating to date.

sh1ro will now take his place at Team Spirit. He is a very talented sniper and is not far behind Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev.

Spirit now has the following players in its lineup:

  • Leonid “Chopper” Vishnyakov
  • Danil “donk” Kryshkovets
  • Boris “magixx” Vorobiev
  • Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia
  • Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov
  • Sergey “hally” Shavaev (Coach)
  • Artem “ArtFr0st” Kharitonov (on the bench)

sh1ro resigned from Cloud9’s CS lineup two months ago to the surprise of the fans: The reason for this was poor performance at IEM Sydney, the first major event in CS2.

sh1ro had left Cloud9 after sitting on the bench for two months. The player was previously with the Gambit Youngsters, a team that was founded 3 years ago.The lineup was quite successful, including winning IEM Katowice in 2021. sh1ro was in the top 4 of the best players two years in a row.

Rumors about the transfer fee

It is unclear how much Team Spirit had to pay to bring sh1ro to the Bott. Insider Vladislav “harumi” Radvilovich had claimed that Cloud9 would only give up the player for a transfer fee of 1.75 million dollars. This sum has not yet been confirmed – nor has it been denied.

s1mple has commented on the rumors surrounding sh1ro and the mysterious transfer fee. The Ukrainian professional claims to know the actual amount of money, but did not say exactly how much was paid.

He said: “I know the actual transfer fee for sh1ro. Insiders are misleading you again, be careful.”
