Japanese team ZETA DIVISION has signed five VALORANT players to complete its Game Changers roster, the organization announced via Twitter today.

The team started looking for a female team on June 15 and after a month of testing, they were able to win suzu, aco, moco, romia and flappy. The team will seek to participate in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Game Changers Japan, which begins on August 7 and ends the following day.

The Japanese VCT Game Changers tournament begins with an Open Qualifier, where the top four teams qualify for a share of the $7,236 prize pool. The top two finishers qualify for the Game Changers East Asia Circuit. According to the announcement, the event will be the first national VALORANT tournament for the ZETA DIVISION Women’s Team. “As ZETA DIVISION women’s team, we will try our best to deliver exciting games,” said the team’s official statement.

A team from the East Asian region will also qualify for the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Game Changers Championship later this year. The tournament, which will be held in Berlin from November 11-15, will see teams from all over the world compete to become the best Game Changers team in the world. Two teams from North America will qualify for the tournament, while teams from Brazil, Latin America, EMEA and APAC will also participate in the event.

The ZETA DIVISION male team placed third at the VCT Masters Reykjavík but failed to qualify for the VCT Masters Copenhagen where FunPlus Phoenix emerged victorious. We are excited to see how the female team will fare in the upcoming tournaments.

Drama at the VCT Game Changers

As we reported yesterday, there’s a lot going on in the female VALORANT scene right now. Recently, two players were banned from Riot for having an argument on Twitter that escalated a bit. Due to the insults they exchanged, they were banned for 3 and 9 months.

Also, a team was accused of cheating in the Galorant Astral Clash Tournament. There is some evidence that a Team Fallacy player did not play herself but let her boyfriend play. Her boyfriend is ex-TSM FTX player Nate “payen” Lopez and many viewers have noticed similarities to his playing style.
