While it’s true that each new CS2 update brings improvements, different mechanics, and completely new features, some undoubtedly leave us with a bad taste in our mouths.

In one of the latest CS2 beta updates, the game was the protagonist of a change that, while for some, is insignificant, for others, it is a stain on the history of CS:GO. Some community members (the more detailed ones) noticed one of them. As a result, we have Valve removing one of the CS:GO community’s “most beloved” commemorative graffiti, and no doubt players have been quick to speak out.

Valve remove a popular graffiti in CS2

In the years that CS:GO has been on the esports scene, the game has seen some truly iconic moments in every tournament. In addition, since its launch, all of us who follow and play CS:GO have lived in the flesh the different updates where Valve commemorated a spectacular play with graffiti on some map.

Now, after 19 Majors played, many graffiti are part of the different maps of the official CS:GO Map Pool. Although they did not have a significant impact, we were transported to that moment just by observing it. Also, of course, we believed we could emulate the player who did the feat. However, CS2 not only came to change the game mechanics, colors, and much more but also created a new era.

As a result, Valve decided to remove Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov’s grenade graffiti in the rework of Inferno in CS2.

Dosia Graffiti History

If you’re new to the world of Counter-Strike or relatively new to the scene, you may not know exactly what graffiti we’re discussing. However, if you’re like us, a veteran player who has played and, more importantly, watched every Major, you will have seen the move countless times.

This play was on Inferno by Dosia and undoubtedly is one of the most legendary plays in CS:GO history. The Russian played for Gambit Esports, and in the grand final of the PGL Major Krakow 2017, he made an extraordinary play to prevent Immortals’ comeback.

While the round was completely lost, as it was a 2v3 situation with the bomb planted on A in Inferno. In addition, Gambit was saving weapons for the next round; Dosia perfectly understood that Immortals could not save their weaponry, as it could help them complete a historic comeback.

As a result, with only seconds left to detonate the bomb, Dosia threw an HE grenade into the “pit” where they usually keep the CTs in a post-plant situation and, thanks to this, the C4 explosion took out two of the Immortals’ players. Finally, this hit the economy of the Brazilians in the next round.

With the victory in this Major, Dosia and Gambit became part of the history books in CS:GO. Valve also paid tribute to the Russian player with graffiti on the map where the gameplay occurred.
