CS2 is not yet with us, and Valve is already making plans regarding the Majors to be played in 2024, 2025, and 2026. This could be good news for the gaming community, as Valve is planning an official schedule for the Major for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. However, fans and players are more interested in knowing the official release date of CS2.

Valve changes the schedule for the 2025 and 2026 CS2 Majors

According to a report published by HLTV, Valve would be changing the schedule of CS2 Majors to be played in 2025 and 2026. In addition, it is also highlighted that CS2 developers are open to different proposals by tournament organizers, namely BLAST, ESL FACEIT Group, and PGL.

In both 2025 and 2026, the CS2 Majors will be played just before the start of the winter and summer vacations, according to the HLTV report. As a result, we will have the first Major in 2025 between June 9-22, while the second will be played from December 1-14. On the other hand, in 2026, the first major of the year will be played from June 8-21, while the second will be between Nov. 30 and Dec. 13.

While these are certainly major changes, this news only raises the community’s expectations around the release of CS2. Valve is changing tournaments for a game that is not yet available to most players, so many of us might think that CS2 would arrive sooner rather than later.

On the other hand, this change could be very important for both players and organizations. With the difference between these two Major dates in 2025 and 2026, players will be able to have much more rest, as let’s remember that these two tournaments are the main goal of all teams season after season. In addition, this would also help all those organizations that are used to making changes in their lineups after the Majors, as they would have enough time to adapt and prepare for the next one.

Valve open to negotiate with tournament organizers

The report also details that Valve is open to discussing Majors and negotiating with event organizers. According to Valve’s highlights, they propose to create new events in previously successful locations and, most importantly, that the Majors be organized in a time zone that is convenient for the entire Counter-Strike community globally.

However, it’s all there; according to HLTV, in 2024, we will have much more information regarding the CS2 Majors to be held in 2025 and 2026. Let’s remember that all the spotlights are in Copenhagen (Denmark) since the first CS2 Major will be held there in March 2024.

For now, we are all waiting for the official launch of Counter-Strike 2. Although Valve announced that it would be in the summer of this year, since then, no more has been announced about it, so many in the community are a little afraid that Valve will decide to delay the game’s launch.
