The expectation and hype for the release of CS2 is getting bigger and bigger, and the whole community eagerly awaits Valve’s official announcement of the game’s release. However, in the game’s last update, we will have to wait at least a few more weeks since Valve added Ancient and Anubis as playable maps to the CS2 limited test.

The truth is that the whole community wants the launch of the game to be as fast as possible, but it seems that Valve still has to fix a lot of things. In addition, there is also the fact that we have yet to see the new Inferno, so that may be the last beta update for the game in about two weeks.

Similarly, different features have also been added to the limited test, and one of the ones that have attracted the most attention is a new “theme” with chickens since there is a lot of talk about it.

Valve add Ancient and Anubis as playable maps in CS2

As we mentioned, Valve released a new update to the Limited Test of CS2 last August 2, where they added Ancient and Anubis as playable maps.

Similarly, in the post, we can see that Valve also mentions that they “taught chickens to swim,” and it’s true. Previously, chickens could only run around the map avoiding “humans” and gunfire. However, with the new game update, chickens can now swim through certain pools of water in Anubis.

While it is an update that may be “insignificant,” many in the community have applauded it, as this adds a touch more realism to the game. Also, it’s worth mentioning that this change to the chickens completely overshadowed the reveal of Anubis and Ancient as playable maps, which also look spectacular.

C4 inspection function

In addition to this that we have mentioned, we also have that Valve added a new feature for players to inspect the C4. We have observed that it is mind-blowing and certainly really unexpected.

On the other hand, it’s also worth noting that, now as we have Ancient and Anubis as playable maps, Overpass and Vertigo come out of the rotation. As a result, we have already tested almost all the maps in the game’s official competitive map pool, with the only one missing being the iconic Inferno.

In the last few weeks, there were several leaks regarding the new Inferno, which is expected to arrive with many changes. Also, likely, the next update (hopefully the last of them in the Limited Test of CS2) will arrive with Inferno to make fixes for the game’s official release.

Finally, Valve opened access to the Limited Test of CS2 for more people, so you can check if you are one of the lucky ones who have access to the game. Similarly, we will have to wait at least two more weeks for Valve to add Inferno and possibly two more weeks (i.e., a month) for the game’s release.
